A book fair was today organized at Khalsa College of Amritsar
(KCA) in which thousands of books of diverse subjects and disciplines were
placed for the students and common people. The fair was inaugurated by Khalsa
College Governing Council (KCGC) honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh
Chhina who said such fairs inculcate the reading interest amongst students. He
said in the age of inter-net and e-books, the habit of reading is decreasing
but the bliss of reading a book and the mental exercise it generates still has
a no parallel.
The students showed enthusiasm to peruse and buy books of their
interests. KCA Principal Dr.Daljit Singh said almost all the publishers from
the city took keen interest in displaying their books and students found the
experience intellectually stimulating. KCGC joint secretary Ajmeir Singh Heir,
Librarian Sukhdev Singh, Faculty members and staff were present on the occasion
in large number.
