Haryana Secondary Education Department has
directed all District Education Officer (DEOs) and the District
Elementary Education Officer (DEEOs) in the State to recommend cases of
teachers for the National Award to the Teachers-2012.
While
stating this today, a spokesman of the Department said that teachers who are
teaching upto class VIII would be considered in the category of Primary School
Teachers and those who are teaching classes IX to XII would be considered
in the category of Secondary School Teachers.
He
said that classroom teachers with at least 15 years of regular teaching
experience and Headmasters or Principals with 20 years of regular
teaching experience would be eligible for these awards. He said that for
teachers promoting integrated inclusive education, the regular teaching
experience would be reduced from 15 to 10 years of regular service and in
case of Headmasters or Principals, it would be reduced from 20 to 15
years. He said that only these teachers having requisite years of teaching
experience as on December 31 of the preceding year of the award would be
eligible to be considered for the award. No teachers would be asked or
permitted to apply for the award.
The
Educational Administrators including DEOs, DEEOs, Principal DIETs, Deputy DEOs,
Block Education Officers (BEOs) and the staff of SCERT, DIETS, GETTIs are not
eligible for these awards, he added.
He
said that the names of the teachers for these awards would be first
recommended by the BEOs concerned to the District Level Committee.
Thereafter the District Level Committee would recommend the names to the State
Level Committee which would finally recommend the names of teachers for these
awards to Central Government. The district level committee would comprise the
District Education Officer as its Chairman and Principal DIET, Principal of
Senior Secondary School and Principal of Navodaya School of the district as its
members. Similarly, the state level committee would be consist of Director
Secondary Education as its Chairman and Additional or Joint Director
Administration, Director SCERT and Nominee of the Central Government as its
other members.
He
said that main considerations for these awards include academic efficiency:
results, teacher products and teaching innovations, personal achievements: Good
annual confidential reports, personal conduct, team spirit and academic growth
- acquisition of higher qualifications and Involvement in social life of the
community.
He
said that the Award proforma, summary sheet of last 10 years and other
necessary documents and certificates duly counter-signed and attested by the
District Committee should also be sent. The recommendations of the District
Level Committee should reach the Directorate last by March 31, 2013. No case
received after this date shall be considered, he added.
