Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana
(IGMSY) to provide financial assistance to pregnant and lactating women
in Haryana is being implemented for their health and nutritional
improvement.
While
stating this today Director General, Women and Child Development Department,
Mrs Sumita Misra said that initially, this Centrally sponsored scheme
would be launched on pilot basis in Panchkula district of the State.
She
said that under this scheme, pregnant and lactating mothers would be
provided financial assistance of Rs. 4000 for their health and nutrition
improvement in three installments. The first installment of Rs. 1500 is given
on second trimester of pregnancy that is on completion of six months of
pregnancy, second installment of Rs. 1500 at the end of three months of
delivery and third installment of Rs. 1000 is given to nursing mothers when the
infant completes six months of age, she added.
She
said that an awareness generation camp regarding registration of beneficiaries,
condition of three installments given to the beneficiaries, maintenance of
records by Anganwadi Workers(AWW) and role of AWWs and Helpers for
implementation of this scheme would be organized. She said that the AWWs,
Supervisors and Child Development Project Officer of Barwala and Raipur Rani
block would be imparted training at circle Head Quarter from April 1 to 3, 2013
and April 4 or 5, 2013 respectively. She said that the training would be
imparted by State Coordinator and State Programme Assistant of the Directorate
of Women and Child Development Department working under IGMSY Scheme.
