Kurukshetra would
have Swaminarayan Akshardham temple.
Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to give
land for its construction as the B.A.P.S. Swaminarayan Sanstha, New
Delhi had requested him to allot a piece of land to establish the temple
in Kurukshetra.
Mr Hooda said that eight to 10 acres of land would be given for the temple.
It may be recalled that Sri Venkateswara Swami (Balaji) Temple, a replica of
Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh is already under construction in
Kurukshetra.
The Chief Minister said that the setting up of such spiritual centers would
further enhance the religious and spiritual importance of Kurukshetra as an
international centre of pilgrimage.
Sri Venkateswara
Swami (Balaji) Temple is being constructed over an area of 5.52 acres at an
estimated cost of Rs 30 crore.
Kurukshetra is
the land of Bhagavad Gita, which has over the years inspired the humanity. With
the construction of Swaminarayan Akshardham temple and Sri Venkateswara
Swami (Balaji) Temple, a lot of pilgrims would visit Kurukshetra from all over
the world and the increased number of pilgrims would also give boost to the
economy of the area, he added.
