CHANDIGARH, APRIL 23
More than 40,89,499 metric tonnes of wheat has
so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana during the current procurement season
as against 39,79,432 metric tonnes of wheat arrived during
corresponding period last year.
While
stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said
that out of it, over 40,87,604 metric tonnes of wheat has sofar been
procured by Government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining
1895 metric tonnes of wheat has also been purchased by the private
millers and traders. As against it, 39,79,027 metric tonnes of wheat was
procured by Government agencies during corresponding period last year.
He
said that HAFED had procured over 15.16 lakh metric tonnes of wheat, Food and
Supplies Department over 10.29 lakh metric tonnes, Food Corporation of India
over 5.83 lakh metric tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation over 3.85
lakh metric tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation over 3.83 lakh metric
tonnes and CONFED had purchased 1.88 lakh metric tonnes of wheat.
He
said that district Karnal was leading in wheat arrival where over 5.40 lakh
metric tonnes of wheat had so far arrived in the mandis, followed by district
Kaithal where over 5.05 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived in the mandis.
District Jind ranked third in wheat arrival where over 4.01 lakh metric tonnes
of wheat had arrived whereas in district Sirsa over 3.88 lakh metric tonnes of
wheat had arrived, in district Kurukshetra over 3.72 lakh metric tonnes, in
district Fatehbad over 3.38 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived. Similarly,
in district Sonepat over 2.66 lakh metric tonnes, in district Panipat over 2.12
lakh metric tonnes, in district Hisar over 1.97 lakh metric tonnes, in district
Palwal over 1.91 lakh metric tonnes, in district Ambala over 1.43 lakh metric
tonnes, in district Rohtak over 1.02 lakh metric tonnes, in district Faridabad
86503 metric tonnes, in district Yamunanagar 85,630 metric tonnes, in district
Bhiwani 71,691 metric tonnes, in district Jhajjar 53,986 metric tonnes, in
district Gurgaon 45,020 metric tonnes, in district Mewat 37787 metric tonnes,
in district Rewari 18,073 metric tonnes, in district Narnaul 15369 metric
tonnes and in district Panchkula 15,035 metric tonnes of wheat had arrived in
the mandis.
