The Integrated
Agromet Advisory Service Unit of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural
University, Hisar has predicted possibility of variable weather and
partly cloudy sky in the next four days. The maximum temperature is likely to
be between 35 and 38 degree Celsius and minimum between 20 and 22 degree
Celsius.
While
stating this here today, a spokesman of the University said that in view of
these weather conditions, the farm scientists of the university have
advised the farmers to start harvesting of matured wheat crop. They have also
advised the farmers not to burn ‘bhusa’, in view of the prevailing weather conditions.
He said that farmers have been suggested to apply deep irrigation in fields for
sowing ‘desi’ and American or BT cotton and thereafter prepare the field and
start the sowing of crop. Sowing of Bajra, Lobia, Sudan and Napiar grass
could be carried out for summer fodder.
For livestock management, the farmers have also been advised to give them 50
grams of Iodized salt and 50-100 grams mineral mixture daily to keep them
healthy.
