Draft Development Plan for MBIR approved

 The State Level Committee of Town and Country Planning Department, Haryana which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today approved the Draft Development Plan for Manesar-Bawal Investment Region (MBIR) – 2039 and Development Plan of Jind-2031 AD. 
It was informed in the meeting that the Draft Development Plan for Manesar-Bawal Investment Region has been prepared for the projected population of 32 lakh persons with urbanisable area of 40232 hectares. Under the first phase, from the year 2011-21, as many as 8800 hectares of land would be developed whereas, 15,000 hectares would  be developed during the second phase upto the year 2031. The third phase of MBIR would be completed by the year 2039.
It was informed that under the MBIR, an Industrial Township would be developed in the first phase over an area of about 400 sq. kilometers. The MBIR which would be a new Industrial Hub is located in District Rewari, and is about 82 kilometers to South-West of NCT of Delhi. The area of MBIR covers 400 sq.kilometers which would include the existing Bawal Industrial Town and the stretch along NH-8 upto Rajasthan border.
It was informed that in the MBIR, 11189 hectares has been earmarked for residential purpose, 1120 hectares for commercial purpose, 6771 for industrial, 4254 for Transport and Communication, 441 for public utilities, 892 for public and semi-public, 13005 for open spaces and recreation, 424 for rivers and water bodies and 2136 for natural zone.       
It was also informed that forest and mining areas would be incorporated in the plan keeping in view the possibility of slate stone in the peripheral area. The Chief Minister was apprised that reservation of two to five per cent is given to the students in the educational institutes of the area where land has been acquired by the State Government. It was also recommended in the meeting the green belt area falling in the residential areas should be increased and 30 meter green belt and should be left on both sides of NH-8. On the problem of drainage of water, it was informed that water study was being conducted through an international consultant who would submit its report within a period of three months. Mr Hooda stressed on the need for recycling of water so as to meet the scarcity of water.
The Chief Minister was informed that the Draft Development Plan for Jind- has been prepared for the projected population of about 5.17 lakh by the year 2031AD assuming the growth rate of 55 per cent. Under the plan, a vegetable market would be developed at Rohtak road. Also, a meat market would be set up at Kaithal road. Mr Hooda directed that commercial land of 50 meters should be developed on both sides of Hansi road.   
Mr. Hooda was also apprised that due to the coming up of National Institute of Design (NID), Kurukshetra on the southern periphery road, the road would be modified accordingly.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Rao Dan Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Chhatar Singh, Deputy Principal Secretary Mr. R.S Doon, Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation Mr. K.K. Jalan, Additional Chief Secretary Forest Mr. Ramender Jakhu, Principal Secretary, Town and Country Planning Mr. S.S Dhillon, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue Mr. Krishna Mohan, Principal Secretary, Industries Mr. Y.S Malik, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Mr. P. Raghvendra Rao, Principal Secretary, Power Mr. Ajit.M. Sharan, Managing Director, HSIIDC Mr. Tarun Bajaj and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
