Haryana to allot land for ISKCON temple in Kurukshetra

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 11
The  Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to provide six acres of land for the construction of international level ISKCON temple at Kurukshetra.  
Mr Hooda made this announcement on the request of President, ISKCON Temple, Kurukshetra, Mr  Sakshi Gopal Das who called on him here today for providing land for this purpose. Haryana Finance Minister Mr. Harmohinder Singh Chattha and Member of Rajya Sabha, Dr. Ram Parkash were also present on the occasion.
Mr. Hooda said that the proposed temple would be the replica of ISKCON temple at Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Hooda said Sri Venkateswara Swami (Balaji) Temple; a replica of Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh is already under construction at Kurukshetra.  Recently, he has also announced  to give land for the construction of Akshardham Temple there. With the construction of ISKCON temple, the ‘Triveni” of temples would be completed and religious importance of Kurukshetra would be further enhanced at the national and International level. The Chief Minister said that he has always desired to develop Kurukshetra as a tourist destination of International level.
President, ISKCON Temple, Kurukshetra Sakshi Gopal Das thanked Mr. Hooda for allotting land and assured him that the construction work of the temple would be started soon.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Chhatar Singh, Additional Principal Secretary Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, Deputy Principal Secretary Mr. R.S Doon , Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue Mr. Krishan Mohan, Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation Mr. K.K. Jalan, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Mr. P. Raghvendra Rao, Secretary to Governor Mr. Mahendar Kumar and Deputy Commissioner , Kurukshetra Mr. Mandeep Singh Brar was also present on the occasion.
