Haryana Police has arrested three persons, including a
student of B-tech, and recovered fake currency notes of Rs 10,000.
While giving details, a spokesman of the Police Department said that it was on
the evening of April 5, 2013 that two young boys came on motorcycle to
Shyam Jewelers, Sarafa Bazaar, Karnal to purchase gold. There at the shop they
met an artisan namely Sunny Mehta, a resident of Ramnagar, Karnal. They said
they would purchase 10 gm gold. Sunny, the artisan, told them that it is worth
Rs. 30,000. On this both young boys gave him 30 currency notes of Rs1000
denomination each. When Sunny checked these notes, he found them fake and told
them about it. Then suddenly leaving these notes there, both young boys pushed
Sunny back and fled on their motorcycle. Therefore, on the complainant of Sunny
a case was registered against then under various sections of the Indian Penal
Code in Police Station City, Karnal.
On April 7, a team of CIA-1, Staff,
Karnal arrested one accused namely Rajesh,22, a resident of Shanti Nagar,
Karnal from near Railway Station, Ram Nagar, Karnal.
When the accused Rajesh was interogated by CIA-1, Staff,
Karnal, he said that two months ago he took face currency worth Rs 4.30 lakh.
Team of CIA-1, Staff, Karnal recovered fake currency notes of Rs. 2 lakh from
the house of accused Rajesh in which 50 currency notes were of Rs 1,000
denomination and remaining 300 were of Rs 500 denomination. The accused
Rajesh is a student of B-tech final year of Skite Engineering College,
Kurukshetra.
The accused Rajesh was produced in the court today and
police team obtained his remand till April 15. During remand, today following
the information provided by the accused Rajesh, CIA-1 Staff, Karnal team
arrested two accused including one accused Ankit, a resident of Shanti Nagar,
Karnal who was associate of Rajesh for purchasing gold on April 5. The CIA-1
Staff, Karnal team arrested one more accused Mohan, a resident of Kurukshetra
and police team recovered fake currency notes of Rs. 10,000 in which all
the 20 fake currency notes were of Rs. 500 denomination. Besides this police
team also recovered one motorcycle from the possession of the accused. Both the
accused will be produce in the court tomorrow.
