61 Gurgaon cricketers selected for U-16 camp

The Gurgaon District Cricket Association today announced selection of 61 probables for the coaching camp for under-16 at the Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium in Gurgaon. The probables were selected during selection trials and the selected probables have been directed to report at Gurgaon on August 2 at 3.30 p.m. along with original date of birth certificate, residence proof and three recent passport size photographs, according to GDCA joint secretary Naresh Sharma.

Jat Sabha to organise Essay Writing Competition.

The Jat Sabha Chandigarh is organizing “Bhai Surender Singh Malik Memorial on the Spot All India Essay Writing Competition” for College, Universities and School students of classes X, XI and XII on July 15 at Jat Bhawan, 2-B, Sector 27-A, Madhya Marg, Chandigarh from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Dr. M.S. Malik, IPS (Rtd.), former Director General of Police, Haryana and President Jat Sabha, Chandigarh stated that the Competition vividly offers an opportunity to the young students of the schools and colleges/universities to play their significant rich and constructive role in promoting the creative interests for educational & cultural activities through their rich thoughts. Besides Jat Bhawan the competition will be conducted on the following five centres in Haryana as well:-
i) Ch. Bharat Singh Memorial Sports School, Nidani, Distt. Jind (Haryana).
ii) Bhai Surender Singh Malik Memorial Girls Senior Secondary School, Nidani, Distt. Jind).
iii) Government High School Hajwana, Distt. Kaithal.
iv) Gyandeep Model High School Sector 18, Panchkula.
v) St. Vivekanand Millennium School HMT township, Pinjore.
Dr. Malik further added that the topic of the Essay will be announced before the start of the Contest which may be on the burning problems/current events of the society. The competition will be for College/University and School Students from class X and above in two categories i.e. Rural and Urban Area.
Entries for this contest may be sent on any of the above mentioned centres with fee of Rs. Ten only. The best essay will be awarded a Gold Medal and cash of Rs. 2100, the second and third runner ups will get Silver & Bronze Medals and cash prizes of Rs. 1500 and Rs. 1100 respectively and four consolation prizes of Rs. 600. Rs. 500/- and two prizes of Rs. 400 each will be given in each category.
Further, the result of the Essay Competition will be conveyed to the students by post after checking of the papers by Scholars of Punjab University Chandigarh. Winners of the Competition will be honoured on the occasion of Basant Panchmi Function which the Sabha will organize to celebrate the 129th Birth Anniversary of Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram, the tallest and renowned leader of peasants and down-trodden of pre-partition era on 08th February, 2011 at Jat Bhawan Chandigarh.

Haryana Sports Dept releases sports calendar for 2010-11

The Haryan Sports and Youth Affairs Department has issued sports calendar for 2010-11. While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Department said that Block Level Women Sports Festival would be organised at all the blocks of the State on any day from July 17 to 19, whereas District Level Women Sports Festival would be organised at all district headquarters from July 21 to 23.
Block Level Panchayat Youth Sports Competition would be organised at all blocks of the State on any day from August 4 to 6 and District Level Panchayat Youth Sports Competition, under 16 boys and girls, and
Major Dhyan Chand Sports Day would be organised at all the district headquarters of the State on August 28 and 29, he added.
He said that State Level Women Sports Festival would be organised at Karnal from September 7 to 9 and Marathon would be organised at Panchkula on October 2 to observe birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi
as non-violence day. Haryana State Panchayat Youth Sports Competition, under 16 boys and girls, would be organised at Bhiwani and Narwana from October 27 to 29 and November 8 to 10 respectively. Run for Fun and State Level Marathon would be organised at Gurgaon on November 14 to observe as Children Day, the birth anniversary of late Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru.
The spokesman said that District Paralympics Sports Competition for physically challenged persons would be organised at all district headquarters from November 16 to 18 and Haryana Paralympics Sports

He said that State Inter-Centre (Boys) Judo, Football, Basketball and Boxing Sports Competition would be organised at Panchkula from January 5 to 7, 2011 and State Inter-Centre (Girls) Badminton, Table Tennis, Weightlifting, Basketball, Judo, Boxing and Cricket Competition at Panchkula from January 12 to 14, 2011. State Inter-Centre Handball and Weightlifting Competition (Boys) would be held at Mewat from January 16 to 18, 2011. State Inter-Centre (Boys) Cricket Competition Pool-1 and Pool-2 would be organised at Faridabad and Gurgaon from January 18 to 20, 2011 and January 23 to 25, 2011 respectively. Counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Haryana medical colleges

 The counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Government/Government aided Medical/Dental Colleges in Haryana State will be held in the office of the Director, Pt. B.D. Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak on July 15 and 16, 2010.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of PGIMS, Rohtak said that counselling for general category candidates having rank from 1 to 338 would be held on July 15 and counselling for SC category candidates
from rank 1 to 51, BC-A from rank 1 to 80, BC-B from rank 1 to 139, physically handicapped rank 01, ex-servicemen from rank 1 to 15 and for freedom fighters category candidate from rank 1 to 02 would be held on July 16.
The candidates should appear before the counselling board well on time along with all original documents. Videography and thumb impression would be taken at the time of counselling, he added.
Meanwhile, admissions to the courses being conducted in the ITIs, ITIs (Women), ITC, CoEs and Deaf and Dumb Welfare Centre, Gurgaon will be made up to 8 p.m. on the fixed dates.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Industrial Training and Vocational Education Department, Haryana said that the students who could not seek admission up to 8 p.m. should report for admission to
the institute at 9 a.m. next day.

Haryana athletics trials in Nidani on July 24-25

The North Zone Junior Athletics Championship will be held at Amritsar from August 14 to 16. The Haryana State Athletic Association will conduct selection trials- cum-competition at CBSM Sports School, Nidani (Jind) on July 24 and 25 for the age group of under-20, 18, 16 and 14 of both the sections of boys and girls, according to HSAA secretary H S Bhadu,.

Mr. Bahdu informed that interested athletes may contact to the concerned district secretaries. The athletes should bring original date of birth certificate issued from the Education Board (only certificate of 10th class is valid) certificate issued from Municipal Committee/CMO. (The Open school certificate will not be entertained).
He further added that athletes should contact for the registration and competitions to Jitender (Situ), Secretary, DAA Jind at the athletics ground of CBSM Sports School, Nidani at 8 a.m on the respective days.
Bhadu revealed that only those athletes will be selected who will qualify the laid down standard of AFI and HSAA.

PDCA grants affiliation to Shri Shri Cricket Academy

The Panchkula District Cricket Association provisionally granted affiliation to Shri Shri Cricket Academy which functions from DC Model School in Sector 7 here.
Speaking on the occasion, PDCA secretary Sandeep Moudgil lauded the efforts of Shri Shri Cricket Academy for working towards the promotion of cricket in Panchkula and the adjoining areas particularly for junior cricket. He said that affiliation will give a boost to junior cricket in the District and also help the State Cricket Association by harnessing and training fresh talent. He advised the chairman of the academy to ensure that all norms laid down by the District Cricket Association are followed by them.
Academy Director Arun Kanojia said that his academy will strive to not only live up to its pronounced standard but would like to further enhance the same under the patronage of Panchkula District Cricket Association.
He thanked Mr Moudgil for providing an opportunity to his academy to show case its talent in the district and through the district in the state in an organised manner which will help the youngsters in pursuing their cricketing career in the right perspective.
