Republic Day celebrations at DPS Pinjore

MDU women boxers rule the ring

  Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) won the inaugural All India Inter-University Women Boxing Championship (2010-2011) held at M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur from January. 21 to 23.  The MDU pugilists claimed the championship by logging 52 points with the help of six gold, four slver and one  bronze medasl.
            MDU Director, Public Relations Sunit Mukherjee informed that apart from championship, MDU boxing coach Ravindra Singh Rana was adjudged the ‘Best Boxing Coach’ in both men’s and women’s categories by the Association of India Universities.  Earlier, MDU’s men pugilists had won the All India Inter-University Men Boxing Championship held at the same venue from January 9 to 16.
            In the women’s championship, gold medalists from MDU were Suman (52 kg.), Meena Devi (54 kg.), Pratibha (63 kg), Pooja (75Kg.), Sonam(80 kg.) and Kavita (86 kg.),  The silver medalists were Hemlata (48 kg.), Aaliya Khan (50 kg.), Babita (66 kg), and Jagriti (70 kg.),. Neetu got bronze medal for MDU in 60 kg class.
            MDU Vice Chancellor Dr. R. P. Hooda has congratulated the university pugilists for the outstanding achievement.

Jyoti Juneja nominated on EC panel

Executive Council (E.C.) of the university. A University spokesperson informed that her membership will be from immediate effect for a term of two years.

SPAT presentation in CW Advisory Board

The Play for India Sports Hunt- Sports Physical Aptitude Test (SPAT) programme of Haryana has been chosen for presentation in the conference of Commonwealth Advisory Board on Sports to be held in Delhi next month.
While stating this today at Gurgaon, Director, Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Haryana Mr O.P Singh said that the delegates participating in the conference would also go for a field visit to Moti Lal Nehru School of Sports, Rai on February,9. The delegates of 70 Commonwealth countries would share their experiences and good practices in this conference.
He said that the SPAT programme of Haryana is a unique programme in the country which aims at ‘catch them young’ and grooming the budding players from a younger age. This programme is not only attracting the sports talent in the state but it has become a matter of discussion and study among other states also. The Sports Ministry of Government of India is also wondering that how Haryana is able to attract the players in such a large number. This year about 25 lakh sports persons in age group of 8 to19 years applied under SPAT- 2011 programme. Out of these, about 7.5 lakh applications were received online.
 Mr. O.P Singh said that the first round of SPAT- 2011 was held in schools itself from December 3 to 9, 2010 and the players who scored 75 percent or more marks in the three tests of physical ability were now taking the second round. He said that in this second round, which began in all the districts of Haryana except Palwal and Mewat from today, 1.11 lakh players were participating. Those who scored 75 percent and above marks would be able to participate in the third round which is scheduled to be organized in second week of February.
The third round will be organized at a place centrally located from the districts from where maximum number of players qualifies. He said that the schedule of SPAT- 2011 has been uploaded on the website
www.play4india.com from where anyone can see it.
Mr Singh said that this time 5000 budding players in the age group of 8 to 19 years would be selected through this SPAT programme and a scholarships totaling Rs 10 crore would be disbursed among them in
one year. The players in age group of 8 to14 years would be given Rs 1500 per month each while the players in age group of 14 to19 years would get Rs 2000 per month each. This amount would be debited
directly into the bank accounts of the players.
He said that the Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced to open multi discipline sports development centers at all the four divisional headquarters in the state. Competitions between
the sports persons selected through SPAT- 2011 at each division would be held to imbibe in them the feeling of competitiveness, he added.

Applications invited for allotment of houses

 The Secretary, House Allotment Committee, Haryana has invited applications for allotment of Type-III Government houses at Panchkula (General Pool) and Type-IV Government houses at Sector 39–B, Chandigarh (General Pool) and Type-I to IV (on medical or compassionate grounds) Haryana Government houses located in Sector 39 B, Chandigarh/Panchkula from the eligible employees of the Government of Haryana working on regular basis in the offices located at Chandigarh and Panchkula.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the applications should reach the House Allotment Committee by February 15, 2011. Haryana Government employees who had already been allotted government houses of appropriate category at Chandigarh by Chandigarh Administration were not eligible to the Haryana Government houses at Panchkula.
The Haryana Government employees on deputation with other Government, Boards and Corporations were not eligible for the allotment of these houses. Similarly, the employees of Boards and Corporations and of other autonomous bodies are also not eligible.
He said that applicants applying in General Pool category at Panchkula, for Type-III should have basic pay plus grade pay from Rs 17101 to Rs 21000 in new scale and from Rs 6500 to Rs 7999 in old scales on January 1, 2010 and for Type-IV in Sector 39-B, Chandigarh, applicants having basic pay plus grade pay from Rs 21001 and above in new scales and from Rs 8000 to Rs 13499 in old scale on January 1, 2010 would be eligible.
He said that in case of medical or compassionate grounds, those employees would be eligible for Type-I whose basic pay plus grade pay as upto Rs 12900 in new revised scale and basic pay upto Rs 4999 in
old scales on January 1, 2010; for Type-II, those having basic pay plus grade pay from Rs 12901 to Rs 17000 in new scale and from Rs 5000 to Rs 6499 in old scales on January 1, 2010; for Type-III, those
having basic pay plus grade pay from Rs 17101 to Rs 21000 in new scale and from Rs 6500 to Rs 7999 in old scales on January 1, 2010 and for Type-IV, applicants having basic pay plus grade pay from Rs 21000 and above in new scales and from Rs 8000 to Rs 13499 in old scale on January 1, 2010.
The applicants were required to submit medical certificate issued by the Civil Surgeon, Panchkula, MS Sector 16 and Sector 32, Chandigarh and PGIMER, Chandigarh as per the policy. In case of compassionate grounds, the applicants are required to submit death certificate of their husband and they will have to submit an affidavit regarding marital status. They would not be allowed change of house from Sector 39-B Chandigarh to Panchkula on any ground. Even the mutual exchange could not be allowed from sector 39-B Chandigarh to Panchkula being separate criteria.
He said that most of the houses of Type I to IV are available for the allotment were on the first and second floor and once allotted, houses would have to be occupied otherwise the applicant would stand
debarred for allotment of this type of house for a period of one year.
The change of house would be allowed strictly on seniority basis on the availability of the house.
He said that once the allotment of accommodation has been accepted, the liability for license fee would commence from the date of occupation or from the fifteenth day from the date of issue of the allotment order whichever was earlier and wherever Government employee, after accepting the allotment fails to take possession of the accommodation with 14 days of issue of allotment order he or she would be charged license fee from such date for a period of one month or till the date on which new allottee takes possession of the said accommodation whichever was earlier.
All the applicants who had applied earlier for allotment of Type-III at Panchkula and Type-IV and Type-I to IV Government houses in Sector 39-B, Chandigarh/Panchkula on medical grounds and compassionate
grounds and are pending in this office have been consigned to record and they need not apply afresh.

Draw of lots for BPL flats from Feb 14

 The draw of lots for the allotment of triple storeyed BPL flats at Gurgaon, Dharuhera, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Ratia, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Karnal, Narwana, Rewari and Sonipat will be held from February 14 to 17, 2011.

While disclosing this here today, a spokesman of Housing Board, Haryana said that the draw of lots would be held at Gurgaon and Dharuhera on February 14, at Faridabad, Fatehabad, Sirsa and Ratia on February 15, at Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra and Panipat on February 16 and at Karnal, Narwana, Rewari and Sonipat on February 17.
He said that the details of all the registered applicants showing complete particulars of each station had been published on the website of Housing Board Haryana, www.hbh.nic.in. All concerned should check the detail on the website and discrepancies/objections, if any, with reference to information given in the application form should be submitted in writing to the Secretary of the Board on or before January 31, 2011. No objections would be entertained after this date, he added.

Om Prakash to lead Harana athletes in Natl Games

International shot-putter Om Prakash will lead a 45-member Haryana athletics team in the 34th National Games in Jharkhand, according to Haryana State Athletics Association Secretary H S Bhadu.
The HSAA, headed by Nafe Singh has received an invitation from Athletic Federation of India to send the state team for the 34th National Games.
Bhadu further informed that the athletes who have participated in Asian Games , Guangzhou and Commonwealth Games, New Delhi have been selected in the Haryana athletics team. The athletes who won gold medals in the Senior National Athletics in 2010 were also considered for selection.
However, Asian Games medalist Krishna Punia will not participate in theNational Games as she is injured.

Career Guidance Week from January 17

RIMC entrance exams on June 1 and 2

The entrance examination for admission to Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun (Uttrakhand) for January,2012 term will be conducted at Government Girls College, Panchkula on June 1 and 2, 2011.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Rajya Sainik Board, Haryana said that only boys were eligible for the admission to the RIMC. Candidates appearing for the test should not be less than 111/2 years in age, but should not have attained the age of 13 years as on 1st January, 2012. They should either be studying in Class-VII or passed Class-VII from any recognized school at the time of admission to the RIMC.
       The written part of the examination would consist of three papers, namely English, Mathematics and General Knowledge. Mathematics & General Knowledge papers might be answered either in Hindi or in English. Besides the written papers, the intelligence and personality of the candidates would also be tested in an interview, he added.
He said that Prospectus with application forms and set of old question papers for the examination could be obtained from the office of Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board, Sainik Bhawan, Sector-12, Panchkula and all the Secretaries, Zila Sainik Boards in Haryana through cash payment of Rs.250 either personally or by post.
       It could also be obtained from Commandant, Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun by sending a demand draft of Rs. 250 in favour of The Commandant, Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun.
         Application form in duplicate accompanied by three passport size photographs duly signed by the candidate alongwith a Demand Draft of Rs.50 (Rs.five in case of S.C./S.T.) payable to the Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun should reach the Chief Secretary, Haryana, (Defence-I Branch), Sainik Bhawan, Sector-12, Panchkula by March 31, 2011 positively, he added.
