Mrs. Asha Hooda inauguratese “Kaleidoscoe of Life” exhibition


Chandigarh, July 21
Mrs. Asha Hooda wife of Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Vice President of Haryana State Child Welfare Council today inaugurated the 'Kaleidoscope of Life' an exhibition of paintings by Mrs. Meera Ahuja at Indradhanush Auditorium, Sector-5, Panchkula.
This three-day exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Cultural Affairs Wing of Information and Public Relations Department, Haryana.
After viewing the exhibition, Mrs. Hooda described Mrs. Ahuja as a dedicated and skilled painter. She said that all the paintings were beautifully captured on the canvass and the theme of her work covered a wide range of subjects, from general to specific.
While congratulating her, Mrs. Hooda appreciated her efforts as the woman artist despite of after being diagnosed with the celiac disease, in 2003 she make her way with great zeal and passion. She also purchased the paintings.
On this occasion, Commissioner and Director, Information and Public Relations Department, Haryana, Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, on behalf of Chief Minister had announced to provide an incentive money of Rs.51000 to Mrs. Meera Ahuja.
This is the first exhibition hold by Mrs. Ahuja, a housewife. She started painting in the year 2003. In her words, she said painting is a virtual passion and a therapy for me ever since I was diagnosed with Celiac disease. Besides, the therapeutic benefits, apart, I derive great inner joy and solace while taking up the brush, she said.
A Management Graduate (MBA Finance) from Punjab AgriculturalUniversity, Mrs. Ahuja told that she had worked for a few years in a public sector undertaking but left job due to illness. Instead of sinking into depression, she took up pencil sketching and gradually went into water colours and oil paintings. Today, she had started experimenting with different forms of art and media. She creates and combines what fascinates here whether it is depiction of nature or portrait or a living being. For her painting is poetry in colour or black and white.
Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Sunder Pal, OSD to Chief Minister (Residence), Ravinder Singh Hooda, Deputy Commissioner, Pankaj Yadav, Chairman, Panjab Social Advisory Committee, Lakshmi Bhadu, City Magistrate, Ritu Choudhry and other officers of district administration were also present on this occasion.
