Natasha, Gurmhal, Sakshi and Mukul fastest runners

The IVth Annual Athletic and PT display was a proud moment for St. Xavier’s High School, Panchkula. The sun was shining for the children when they assembled at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, to present their spectacular show of talents, discipline ,drill and training.
Inspector General of Police (Haryana) Mr. R.K. Mishra was the chief guest. He was greeted warmly by Principal, Mr. George S.Shear by the Welcome Address highlighting sports and games as being of tremendous importance in the school curriculum.
The show began amidst the energy and fervour lent by the march past. Students so well groomed in P.T. uniforms, were a sight to watch and admire. Their perfect steps showed their might and self discipline. The parade was led by the school captain, Nupur Arora. The school cabinet and the batch of meritorious students followed in step. The four houses - Indian, Atlantic, Pacific and Artic led by their vice–captains , were close to follow marching enthusiastically.
Parents had gathered in good strength to cheer their kids who took part in traditional sports events - Porter Drill ( Kindergarten) ,Sunflower drill (Primary school) ,Glove Drill (classes V – IX).
Pyramid formation by boys and girls displayed exemplary precision. It was an Inter House competition . The Inter house pyramids were won by Artic house.
Natasha (senior girls), Gurmhal Singh (senior boys), Sakshi (junior girls), Mukul (junior bos) emerged the fatest runners by winning 100 metres races in their respective categories.
 Udita and Aryan Pal stood first in the 75 metres race for boys and girls, respectively. The 4x100 Metres mixed relay (seniors) was won by Artic House comprising of Pankaj,Natasha, Rachit,Vasudha. The  4 x 100 relay race for juniors was won by Atlantic House comprising Harsimran, Satyam, Niharika and Anjali. The sub-juniors 4x75 metres relay race was also won by Atlantic House consisting of Aryan, Shiv, Sangeeta and Shivani .
Balancing the ball, pulling the tyre and unwinding paper events for tiny tots kept the spectators spell-bound.
The program was followed by the prize distribution to felicitate the winners. The overall winners were Atlantic Houaw who were awarded the Winners Trophy.
Mr. Mishra in his motivational speech emphasized that schools like St. Xavier’s would lead the future generations onto the path of peace and harmony.
He also advised the students on the value of integrity and honesty to develop the perfect sportsmanship.
