CM snubs opposition parties remarks on fate of BJP-JJP Govt

  Chandigarh, October 27

Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today snubbed the opposition parties for their remarks over the fate of BJP-JJP Government in the State saying that the coalition Government has successfully completed the first year of the second tenure of the present State Government by working unitedly.

Mr Manohar Lal was addressing the gathering after performing Bhoomi Pujan of Runway for Phase-II of Integrated Aviation Hub Hisar at Hisar Airport during a programme held to mark the successful completion of one year of the second tenure of the present State Government today. Deputy Chief Minister, Mr Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Mr Ranbir Gangwa, Minister of State for Archaeology and Museum, Mr Anoop Dhanak, Member of Parliament, Hisar, Mr Brijendra Singh, MLA Hisar,  Dr Kamal Gupta, MLA Barwala, Mr Jogi Ram Sihag were also present on this occasion. Apart from this, Ministers, MLAs and other prominent people joined the programme in the 20 other districts of the State through video conferencing.

On this occasion, inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of 306 development projects of various departments costing more than Rs 1848 crore was held simultaneously in all districts of the State except Sonipat.

While describing Hisar Airport as a huge project, the Chief Minister said that the State Government intends to develop this Airport as International Airport and consistent steps are being taken in this direction.  He said that with today’s Bhoomi Pujan, the work for expansion of Runway for Phase-II of Integrated Aviation Hub Hisar will be carried out at a cost of Rs 165 crore. On completion, this Airport would give further impetus to the development activities not only in district Hisar but in the entire State, he added. He said that today is a historic day as inauguration and laying of foundation stones of 306 development projects has been done simultaneously in the State. He said that perhaps inauguration and laying the foundation stone of such a large number of projects have never been done at this scale in any part of the country before.

Taking a dig at the Congress Party, Mr Manohar Lal said that right from the first day of the present State Government, the leaders of Congress Party have been issuing statements that BJP-JJP Coalition Government  would not last long and it would collapse within three or six months. Nowadays, they are saying that the Government would fall after the Baroda by-elections.  “I would like to thank the Congress Party for making such remarks as such remarks help us to  remain more vigilant and cautious while running the government with more determination,” he added. However, he pointed out that such remarks or statements put a question mark on the credibility of the Congress Party.  He said that spreading lies has become the habit of the Congress leaders as they have no other issue to raise.

The Chief Minister said that it is for the first time since the inception of Haryana that Congress remained out of power in the state continuously for six years and this has baffled their leaders with each passing day. Accusing the Congress Party for raising issues on every single decision taken by the Centre and the State Government, he said that when on the initiative of Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, the Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir was revoked by the Parliament, the Congress had made a hue and cry and propagated that the decision would lead to bloody riots in the country but nothing happened. He said that similarly, the decision of the Supreme Court of India regarding the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has not gone down well with the Congress and they started spreading rumours that riots like the situation could erupt in the country. He said that Congress also made a similar hue and cry during the passing of Citizens Amendment Act.

While taking on the Congress on the issue of Pakistan, Mr Manohar Lal said that when Congress Government was at the Centre, the Congress had always taken a soft stance in Parliament  for  the neighbouring Pakistan. Contrary to this, the Balakot Strike was the result of the strong leadership of Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi. He said that India has globally emerged as a force to reckon with and it is the outcome of the policies of the Modi Government that today China is left isolated in the World.

On the recent farm reforms introduced by the Centre Government, he said that Congress has been misguiding the farmers saying that these reforms would financially destroy the farmers, MSP and the mandi system would end and the corporates would take over the entire system. He said that farmers are innocent but no one could deceive them. He said that an adequate system of procurement has been put in place in Haryana. The smooth procurement of Bajra, Paddy and Cotton is in progress in mandis and procurement centres have been established in the State.

Throwing light on the major achievements of one year of present State Government, he said that the year 2020 is being celebrated as ‘Sushasan Sankalp Varsh’  under which various e-initiatives have been made to bring about a systematic improvement in the system. He said that the state government’s programme to make the State free from Lal Dora has been appreciated by the Centre Government and further replicated as ‘Swamitva Scheme’.  Apart from this, Parivar Pehchan Patra, e-Office, Meri Fasal Mera Byora among the several e-initiates taken by the State Government. He said that recently, in a major step which would curb corruption in the offices of Regional Transport Authorities, the State Government has changed the entire staff in the offices of Regional Transport Authorities. Apart from this, the CM Flying squad has conducted 199 raids in the last two months and arrested 103 people who have been running business without having required license.

He said that under the transparent system of recruitment, the State Government has provided about 10,000 government jobs in the last one year. A target has been set to provide one lakh jobs to the youth in five years. Apart from this, a provision is also being made to reserve 75 per cent jobs in the private sector only for the youth of Haryana.  The Chief Minister said that in the remaining four years, the State Government would continue to work to make the life of people in urban and rural areas more easy and comfortable and provide them a safe and secure atmosphere by putting the criminals behind bars.

Earlier, the Chief Minister also released a booklet prepared and published by the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department on the achievements of successful completion of one year of the second term of present State Government.

Earlier, speaking on this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mr Dushyant Chautala, who also holds the portfolio of Civil Aviation Minister, said that the decades old dream of a world class Airport at Hisar is now becoming a reality with expansion of the Runway for Phase-II of Integrated Aviation Hub Hisar. He said that apart from the Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) facility, this Airport also has the facility of stimulators for the pilots which help them to remain active post training.

He said that the present State Government has made several reforms in the last one year for the benefit of people. He said that eight districts of the State have set up a benchmark in the production of Cotton. Keeping this in view, the State Government would soon send a proposal to the Centre Government requesting to set up a Textile Manufacturing Hub in the State. He said that now the payment to farmers of their crops is being directly sent into their bank accounts. To facilitate the farmers, an advance SMS is sent on their mobile phones to inform them about the date of selling their produce in the mandis.
