Chandigarh Press Club condemn attack on journalists by Punjab Youth Congress

 CHANDIGARH, DEC 2

Chandigarh Press Club condemned the attack on journalists by Punjab Youth Congress workers in Chandigarh on Wednesday. The electronic media was there to cover the agitation led by the Punjab Youth Congress president Birender Singh Dhillon and while on the way to 'gherao' the Haryana chief minister's residence, some of the Congress Youth workers started pelting stones on the electronic media, who were at the other corner of the road for the coverage.
Aaj Tak's journalist Satender Chauhan was injured and received stitches on the head, while other electronic journalists, including camera persons, had a narrow escape.
Chandigarh Press Club demanded strict action against the culprits and would be sending a representation to the UT Police to file a complaint against the culprits, and well also forward a representation to the Punjab chief minister.
Electronic media friends are organizing the protest and to stand in solidarity with our own fraternity, Chandigarh Press Club has requested the media friends from across the verticals, to join the protest in maximum numbers outside Punjab Vidhan Sabha on December 3 at 12 noon.
