Sangram Bhadury and Priyanshi Katial lift singles titles

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 20                 

CLTA player third seed Sangram Bhadury (MP) and Nikunj Arora won the boys under 16 and 12 singles titles, respectively, in the  CLTA-AITA Championship Series (CS7) Tennis Tournament at the Sector 10 Tennis Stadium here today. 

Sangram defeated another CLTA player second seed Ayaan Chandel in straight set 6-1,6-4. In the first set Sangram played in a top form and won the first set 6-1 easily. In the second set both players played high energetic game finally Sangram used his experience and close the second set and match 6-4. 

In boys under 12 singles final match second seed Nikunj Arora (CH) outplayed his practice partner unseeded Manav Partap Gill (CH) 6-1,6-3 in a straight set without getting much pressure. Nikunj Arora also won boys under 12 doubles title yesterday.

Second seed Priyanshi Katial won girls under-16 single title, Priyanshi overpowered another CLTA player Japleen Kaur (CH) 6-1,6-2 in a one sided match. In girls under 12 single finals top seed Tanya Bhatnagar (HR) won from Divnoor Kaur (PB) 6-2, 6-2 in a straight set. Tanya Bhatnagar played in a top form and dominant throughout the match with her aggressive game style.

Gaurish Madaan and Ayaan Chandel lift boys under 16 double title. They defeated second seed Mahijith Kaura and Sangram Bhadury in a three setter match 2-6, 6-4, 10-7. In the boys under 12 doubles final top seed Nikunj Arora and his partner Atharv Abhiraj won from Siddharth Malik and Manav Partap in a three setter match 6-2, 3-6, 10-5.

 CLTA Member Executive Committee  Reet Mahinder Singh, and Chief Operating Officer distributed the prizes.

Boys under 12: Nikunj Arora (CH) [2] bt. Manav Partap Gill (CH) 6-1, 6-3

Girls under 16: Priyanshi Katial (PB) [2] bt. Japleen Kaur (CH) 6-1, 6-2.

Girls under 12: Tanya Bhatnagar (HR) [1] bt. Divnoor Kaur (PB) [8] 6-2, 6-2 .

Boys under-16:   Gaurish Madaan (CH)/ Ayaan Chandel (CH) [1] bt. Mahijith Kaura (PB)/Sangram Bhadury(MP)[2] 2-6,6-4,10-7.

Boys under 12:   Atharv Abhiraj (PB) / Nikunj Arora (CH) [1] bt. Siddharth Malik (HR) / Manav Partap Gill (CH) 6-2,3-6,10-5.
