Applications invited for best Youth Award

CHANDIGARH, SEPT 1
  The Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department has invited applications for the district and state level best Youth Award and Best Youth Organization Award for the year 2010-11.
        While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the department said that the youth and youth clubs or organizations that have rendered notable services in the field of health, family welfare, industrial training, women empowerment, culture, sports, social welfare, cleanliness drive etc are eligible for the awards.
He said that the best youth award at State and district level would be given on the basis of achievement of past one year while the best youth organization or youth club award would be given for the achievement of last three years. She said that the best youth award carries a cash prize of Rs. 3000, the best youth organization or club award carries a cash prize of  Rs. 5000 while the best youth organization award at State level carries a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 which would be given after the approval of district and state level selection committees.
        While giving details about the eligibility criteria, he said that the applicant should be between 15 to 35 years of age and for the best youth organization award it should be registered under the registration Act 1860 for the last three years. She said that preference would be given to those youth clubs or organizations that are associated with the Sports and Youth Affairs department, Haryana and also contributed in the implementation of departmental activities at village level, she added.
        He said that the applicant could send their nominations along with the newspaper clippings, appreciation letter, certificates and all the relevant proofs of their achievements to the office of concerned District Sports and Youth Affairs Officer by September 13, 2011.
