President’s Police medal has been awarded to one police officer of Haryana for his distinguished service and police medal has also been awarded to nine police personnel of the state for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2015.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana police said that Dr. Ramesh Chandra Mishra, IPS, Additional Director General of Police, State Vigilance Bureau, Gurgaon has been awarded President’s Police Medal for distinguished service.
He said that nine other police personnel who have been awarded police medals for meritorious service included Virender Singh, HPS, DSP, Sirsa, Kamal Singh, Inspector, HAP, Virender Singh, Inspector, Faridabad, Sushil Kumar, Sub Inspector, Sushil Kumar, Sub Inspector, Gurmeet Singh, E/ASI, Panchkula, Kulbir Singh, E/ASI, Ambala, Manoj Kumar, ASI, Panchkula and Ram Kumar, ASI, Faridabad
He said that Mr. Y.P Singal, Director General of Police has congratulated all these police personnel for their distinguished and meritorious services. He hoped that they would continue to work with same zeal and dedication and added that these awards would also inspire other police personnel who work with dedication.
PRESIDENT'S POLICE MEDAL FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE
Dr. Ramesh Chandra Mishra joined Indian Police Service in the year 1989. After initial training both in academy and field, he remained posted as ASP/Addl. SP Gurgaon and District Superintendent of Police, Jind, Narnual and Panchkula, where he had controlled the crime and maintained the Law& Order very successfully. He was always accessible to the general public. He was very sensitive to the welfare of policemen. He introduced various measures for prevention and detention of crime due to which no major incident either of terrorists or professional criminals, took place during his tenure as District Superintendent of Police. During his tenure as District Superintendent of Police, he was described as a highly energetic, dynamic, enthusiastic and intelligent officer. His conduct was consistently of very good quality. He was very resourceful and took keen interest in crime control.
In the last twenty four years, the officer has served in several important positions in the police hierarchy in the State of Haryana and has earned an enviable reputation of a sincere, hard working and impartial officer who is professionally competent and completely upright. He distinguished himself right from the period of district training where he excelled in his duties and earned a reputation for impeachable integrity.
Thereafter, Dr. Ramesh Chandera Mishra, IPS remained posted as AIG/Administration at police Headquarters. He was promoted as DIG on 22.10.2005 and posted as DIG/Modernisation and Security. He was promoted as Inspector General of Police on 12.06.2009 and remained posted as IGP/Prisons, Administration, Modernisation and IGP/CID, Haryana. He was promoted as Addl. Director General of Police on 09.06.2014 and posted as ADGP/Crime Against Women, Haryana. Now he is posted as ADGP/Crime Against Women. He has contributed greatly in improving the police administration in police headquarters and at the field level. As a staff officer, his assistance has also been found of highest order. He is always willing to take added responsibility and executes them appreciably.
Dr. Ramesh Chandra Mishra, IPS is an outstanding sportsman and remained as Secretary to the central Sports officer during his posting at Madhuban. During his tenure as Secretary, CSO, Haryana Police achieved many laurels in the field of sports. He himself bagged many national awards in the field of sports.
Dr. Ramesh Chandra Mishra, IPS is a literary personality. He has written various books such as, “THE PUNJAB POLICE RULES (1934)” Volume I, II, III, in Hindi, translated, written and updated with latest amendments and awarded by MHA with cash prize, “SECURITY IN SOUTH ASIA”, cross border analysis, “MANVADHIKAR SANRACHHAN” awarded with a certificate , shawl and cash prize of Rs. Fifteen thousand on 4th March, 2006, CRIME TRENDS AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE, NAYA SIPAHI, a book for new recruits, revised & rewritten, CYBER CRIME and so many other books in addition to his arduous nature of job
He enjoys good health and is fully fit for field duties and staff duties. He is an intelligent smart, pleasing and hardworking officer. He takes keen interest in the performance of duties and performs them in a commendable manner.
Besides the above, he was conferred with various awards like, police medal for Meritorious Service in the year 2007 on the occasion of Republic day, Medal from the President of India on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Anniversary of India’s Independence, “World Hindi Millennium Award”, & “Human Rights Millennium Award”, by International Association of Educators for world peace.
