YMCA-HVSU sign MoU to impart quality education

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 6
With a view to imparting quality education and skilled-bassed training students to enhance their employability, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad and Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University (HVSU) to conduct a Skill Certification Course under Saksham Yuva Scheme of Government of Haryana and a course in Cyber and Network Security.
     The memorandum was signed by Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, YMCA University and Mr. Raj Nehru, Vice-Chancellor, Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University on behalf of their Universities. Dean (Academics) Dr. Vikram Singh, Chairperson (IT) Dr. Atul Mishra, OSD to Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Kumar, officials from HVSU; Joint Director Col. Utkarsh  Rathore, Deputy Director Mr. Sanjay Bhardwaj, Assistant Director Ms. Chanchal, Senior Skill Coordinator Ms. Meenakshi, Deputy Registrar Dr. Lalit and Assistant Registrar Mr. Sanjeev were also present on the occasion.
    Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar said that the MoU with HVSU is a significant step taken by the YMCA University in promoting skill based education through academic collaboration and it would make important contribution in enhancing skill based education in the State. The courses under the joint collaboration would benefit the students as it would enable the students to gain employable skills which would help them to be aware of the latest tools and techniques in order to be industry ready, he added.
    Vice-Chancellor of HVSU Mr. Raj Nehru said that HVSU is established with an objective to facilitate and promote skill, skill based education and research and entrepreneurship development in the emerging sectors of economy and raise skill levels in various domains related to these sectors.
    He informed that HVSU in association with YMCA University would run Cyber and Network Security course with sound knowledge and understanding of threats and challenges, concepts and practices applied in Cyber and Network Security. Curriculum of the course would be industry specific and students picking up the courses will learn the skill of securing operating systems, performing risk assessments, designing secure network architectures, assessing and reinforcing the security of websites and, responding to cyber security incidents. The course would be primarily for the students of YMCA University who are in the final semester of engineering and technology courses or have already done these courses.
    Similarly, under the agreement, HVSU in association with YMCA University would also offer a Skill Certification Course under Saksham Yuva Scheme. The course has been designed to impart communication and life skill training to the youth living in marginalised communities and provide them an opportunity to escape poverty through training and employment by enhancing their skills of acquiring a job, self-employability and economic security. The programme would be exclusively for those who have registered themselves on Saksham portal under Saksham Yuva Scheme of Government of Haryana.
    On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor of HVSU Mr. Raj Nehru and Prof. Dinesh Kumar planted a sapling in the University Campus.
