Haryana Government plans to organise 'Rozgar Melas'

CHANDIGARH, NOV 23
The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has said that the state government plans to organise ‘Rozgar Melas’ throughout the state to provide regular employment to Saksham Yuvas.  Saksham-II scheme is being implemented under which skill training would be imparted to all such graduates and post-graduates as have attained degrees from other states.
          Speaking at an interaction programme with Saksham Yuvas in Ambala today, he directed the officers that Saksham Yuvas who had been selected for honorary work under the State Resident Data Base survey, but had not been engaged, would now be given work for 200 hours per month to compensate them for the period when they had to go without work.
          Saksham Yuva Scheme for educated unemployed youth, launched in Haryana on November 1, 2016 as a part on the Swarna Jayanti Year celebrations, is a unique scheme. In April 2017, the scheme was expanded and science, engineering and equivalent B.A (math graduates) were brought under its cover to provide benefit to the maximum number of youths.
          Under this scheme, monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 is given to eligible unemployed post-graduates besides honorarium of Rs 6,000 for 100 hours of work. This makes them get Rs 9,000 per month. The graduate eligible unemployed youths get unemployment allowance of Rs 1,500 per month and honorarium of Rs 6,000 for 100 hours of work, taking the total to Rs 7,500 per month.
          The Chief Minister said 49,995 youths had so far got themselves registered under this scheme out of which 43,246 were approved, and honorary work was allotted to 31,389 in different departments, boards and corporations. 
          With a view to providing more employment opportunities to the youth, the state government has been laying special emphasis on industrial development, he added.
          Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. Nayab Singh said that this was a unique initiative of the State Government and the other State Governments have been showing great interest to follow this scheme.
          Principal Secretary, Employment Department, Mr. T.C. Gupta said that so far, a sum of Rs 77.94 crore has been disbursed as unemployment allowance and honorarium to eligible candidates.
          Earlier, Health Minister, Mr. Anil Vij, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. Nayab Singh, MLAs, Mr. Aseem Goyal and Mrs. Santosh Chauhan Sarwan welcomed the Chief Minister in rest house of Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Department, Ambala.
