42 nominations filed for bye-elections to Jind Assembly Constituency

CHANDIGARH, JAN 10  
As many as 42 nominations have been filed on the last day of filing nomination papers for the bye-elections to Jind Assembly Constituency.
        While stating this today, Sub Divisional Magistrate and Returning Officer, Jind Assembly Constituency, Mr. Virender Sehrawat said that Dr. Krishan Lal Middha has filed nomination from BJP, Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala from Congress Party, Mr. Umed Singh Redhu from INLD party and Mr. Digvijay Singh Chautala from Jannayak Janta Party.
        Others who have filed nomination papers included Ms. Sheetal from Rashtriya Mazdoor Ekta Party, Ms. Sunita from People’s Party of India, Ms. Vidyavati (Covering Candidate) from BJP Party, Independent Candidates Mr. Mangeram and Mr. Om Parkash, Pawan Jain from Rashtriya Azad Manch, Independent Candidate Mr. Rajender Singh, Mr. Satender Singh Dhull (Covering Candidate) from INLD Party, Independent Candidate Mr. Anshul Kumar Singla, Independent Candidate Mr. Ashok, Independent Candidate Mr. Harish Kumar, Independent Candidate Mr. Ramesh, Radhey Shyam from Samajik Nyay Party, Mr. Karamveer from People’s Party of India, Independent Candidate Mr. Vijender, Independent Candidate Mr. Ravinder Kumar, Mr. Sunil Kumar from Republican Party of India, Independent Candidate Mr. Sandeep Kumar son of Pirthi Singh, Independent Candidate Mr. Sandeep Kumar son of Ramphal, Mr. Kamal Kumar from Bhartiya Samajik Nyay Party, Independent Candidate Mr. Sukhbir Singh, Independent Candidate Mr. Anil Kumar, Independent Candidate Mr. Satpal, Mr. Vinod Aashri from Loktantra Suraksha Party, Independent Candidate Mr. Surender Bibipur and Independent Candidate Sant Dharambir Chotiwala.
        Mr. Sehrawat said that some candidates have filed two to four nominations. Therefore the total number of candidates is 34 and total number of nominations is 42. While Dr. Krishan Lal Middha has filed four nominations, Independent Candidate Mr. Mangeram has filed two nominations, Mr. Umed Singh and Mr. Digvijay Singh from INLD Party both have filed two nominations each and Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala from Congress Party has filed two nominations.
BYE-ELECTIONS: Meanwhile, with a view to ensure peaceful and transparent conduct of bye-elections to Jind Assembly Constituency, the Election Commission has appointed senior IAS officer Mr. Saurabh Bhagat as General Observer. A.E.E.O Mr. Rambhaj has been as Liaison Officer for the General Observer.
