“The Military Heritage of Haryana” annual conference

CHANDIGARH, JAN 23
Haryana Academy of History and Culture, Kurukshetra  has decided to organise its 3rd Annual Conference and  also an exhibition “The Military Heritage of Haryana” on February 1 and February 2, 2019 at the campus of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
          While giving details, Director, Haryana Academy of History and Culture, Prof.  Raghuvendra Tanwar  said that the conference would be presided over by Prof. K.C. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Prof.  Kapil Kapoor, Chairman, Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla would be the chief guest and Mrs. Dheera Khandelwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Art and Cultural Affairs Department Haryana would be the guest of Honour. On this occasion Prof. Arvind P. Jamkhedkar, Chairman, Indian Council of Historical Research would deliver keynote address on “the Aryan Problem and Recent Evidences from Harappan Sites in Haryana and Punjab” and special lecture by Mr R.S. Verma, Former Chief Secretary, Haryana on “Emergence of the State of Haryana and its Development”  on  February 1.
          Similarly, the exhibition “The Military Heritage of Haryana” would be inaugurated by Param Vir Chakra Awardees Sub.  Maj. Yogender Yadav, PVC and Sub. Sanjay Kumar,  PVC at Bhagwad Gita Sadan followed by an interactive session with these awardees. An exhibition “the Significance of Rakhigarhi” would also be organised on this occasion. The exhibition would be on display from 10:30 am on February 1 to 5 pm on February 2.
          He said that on February 2, a Valedictory function would be organised with Prof. Vijay K. Kayat, Vice Chancellor, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa as the Chief Guest followed by  Valedictory address on ‘Hindi Literature and its Contribution to Haryana’ by Prof. Lal Chand Gupt ‘Mangal’ of Department of Hindi, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
