75 % jobs in private sector for locals in Haryana

 Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said that to provide employment to the youth of the state, by ensuring 75 percent share of Haryana's youth in the private sector, the Haryana Vidhan Sabha passed the Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Bill, 2020.

Mr. Dushyant Chautala was interacting with media persons after the conclusion of the proceedings of the House here today.

Mr. Dushyant Chautala said that this historic bill will provide more employment opportunities to the youth. For this, the State Government is also providing skill training to the youth, he added. He said that to make the undergraduate and postgraduate students employable, discussions are underway with the industrial units on different aspects for the last one year. Apart from this, discussions have been held with educationists to link academics with the requirement of the industries.

He said that in the discussions held with representatives of big companies during the Haryana Enterprise Promotion Policy meeting in Gurugram, the companies shared their suggestions with the State Government regarding linking industries with educational institutions in and around rural areas. In addition, international companies such as Oyo and Make My Trip have expressed a desire to tie-up with ITI, he added.

He said that after the Governor signs the Bill, private industrial units being set up in Haryana will have to comply with the Act and employ 75 percent local youth.

While responding to a query regarding the discrepancies in the registries, Mr. Dushyant Chautala said that the entire revenue has been received during the lockdown period. However, action was taken in cases where the procedure has not been followed, from where complaints have been received. Eight officers of the Revenue Department were not only suspended, but they were also charged sheeted and FIRs was also filed against them. If any complaint will further come out, strict action will be taken in that case, he added.

Responding to the question regarding the Punjab Village Common Land (Regulation) Haryana Amendment Bill, 2020, Mr. Dushyant Chautala said that earlier the encroachers on Panchayat land were fined Rs 2,000 per hectare, but with the passing of this bill, encroachment will attract a penalty of 5 to 10 percent of the market price of the land.
