Education key to all-round growth of society: Governor-Chancellor Dattatraya

Education is the key to wholesome growth of society and concerted efforts should be made to ensure that no one is devoid of quality and skill based education, said Governor-Chancellor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya while addressing the convocation of Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS), Faridabad, on Sunday.

“New National Education Policy-2020 is a visionary document with potential to transform our education system holistically. It must be implemented in totality. Inclusive, skill and research based education is needed to realize the goal of Atma Nirbhar Bharat,” said Chancellor-Governor Shri Dattatraya.

Shri Dattatraya congratulated the recipients of degrees and wished them the best for their future endeavors. He said that this convocation is the result of tireless efforts of students, faculty members and the management.

“It is a matter of pride for any university and the state that today one third of degrees have been awarded to women. Education helps in the holistic development of an individual. Therefore, various aspects should be adopted to ensure a seamless learning process. Online as well as a practical mode of education should be adopted,” he said.

Over 1500 students were awarded degrees including doctorate in various disciplines at the 17th convocation of MRIIRS. Sixty four students were awarded medals for their outstanding achievements and academic proficiency. Chancellor-Governor Shri Dattatraya also released the convocation memoir on the occasion.

Vice Chancellor Prof Sanjay Srivastava presented the annual report of the university. He congratulated the graduating students. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Dr Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University; Shri Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, Director, HR, Indian Oil Corporation Limited; Shri Vijay Dev, Chief Secretary, Government of National Capital Region, and others.
