International master Himanshu Sharma and Umed Sharma of Rohtak, D.S..Suri, Rajaiv Vasudev of Faridabad, Manav Saxena, Mausam Saxena, Neetyakshya Singh, Manohar Lal, Aman Chahal, Bharat Bhushan, Stuti Bhanot, Harmmet Thukran, Jayanat Chauhan, Chetan Chauhan, Rishabh Garg, Trinav Rattan, Navin Kumar, Piyush Sharma of Gurgaon, Mahesh Tanwar, Yogesh Gautam, Shubham Kaushik, Pawan Kaushik, Anshul Kaushik of Bhiwani, Gopal Sharma, Anil Tiwari, Mahesh Kimothi, of Yamunnagar, Subhash Chopra, Sunil Kumar of Hissar, Amarjot Singh, Surinder of Sirsa Nilesh Jindal, Sagar Goel, , Vishal Kumar of Sonepat, Roopal Mohan, and Ravi of Fatehabad, Sanjeev Duggal, M.P.Verma of Kurukshetra won their first round match in the XXVI Haryana State Open Chess Championship at Lions Public School here today.
Earlier, Lion K.C.Wadhwa, a prominent industrialist and former chairman of Lions Public School formally inaugurated the championship.
This championship is being organized by Distt. Chess Association Gurgaon (Regd.) under the aegis of the Haryana Chess Association (Regd.). Haryana team for the National Challengers ‘B’ Championship, which would be organized in Bhiwani, would also be selected from this championship. One hundred thirtyfour players from all over Haryana are participating.
