HDDCF to soon launch ice creams

Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation will soon launch ice creams of different flavours in the market under VITA brand.
           While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that Federation was successfully supplying quality ghee, curd, milk and cheese to the consumers under Vita brand. He said that Federation was playing an important role not only in making cattle breeders and rural women self dependent, but also in delivering quality products to consumers at reasonable rates.
He said that during the year   2011-12, Federation purchased 5.33 crore kg of milk costing Rs 111 crore in Sirsa district.
           He said that as many as 26259 farmers were associated with Vita plant at Sirsa for the supply of milk.  Besides this, 1350 persons were associated for collection of milk  and 675 societies were working for the Federation for this purpose, out of which 520 were registered. Contributing towards women empowerment, Federation had constituted 80 women committees. This had not only brought self confidence in them but had also made them financially independent. One committee had atleast 41 members who work in a time bound manner, he added.
           He said that at Vita plant at Sirsa, 1.46 lakh kgs of milk was collected daily and consumers were provided milk products like curd, ghee, butter, buttermilk and different sweets prepared on purity
scales. He said that bonus was also given to the societies exhibiting good performance. Vita was also providing facility of artificial fertilization for the cattle at 17 societies. He said that there are seven chilling centres of Vita at different areas of district Sirsa and at present, 350 workers are working at Vita institute, out of which 71 were on regular basis.
           He said that Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation has established its units at Jind, Rohtak, Ballabhgarh and Ambala apart from Sirsa.
