Education Departent warns errant publishers

by Haryananewswire
Chandigarh, August 3
The Education Department, Haryana has decided to take stern action against errant publishers for delay in the printing of text-books meant for school students. The department will also forfeit their bank guarantee.
Disclosing this here today, the Haryana Education Minister, Mrs Geeta Bhukkal, said the state government had decided to start the process of tendering for printing of text-books for the next academic session in order to avoid any delay. This time, more printers would be assigned the printing work.
She said that office-bearers of the Teaches Association had recently met her regarding rationalization and other issues concerning the department. They have been called for a meeting on August 5. In order to improve the level of education in the state, the Education
Department would go hand-in-hand with the Teachers Association, and all matters would be solved amicably by dialogue. The association should come forward and contribute to the improvement of education,
she said.
Mrs Bhukkal said that counselling was being done regarding rationalization as schools with more students were falling short of teachers and vice-versa. Teachers are called on duty 15 minutes before the arrival of the students to maintain discipline in schools and arrangements have been made to fill the vacant posts of teachers. Regarding transfers, Mrs Bhukkal said that the policy was transparent and the Association completely agreed with it and any employee could file an application during the general transfer.
