Haryana observing 2013 as year of ‘Industry and Employment’

The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, said that the State Government is observing year 2013 as the year of ‘Industry and Employment’.  During the next five years, about 13 lakh people will get direct and indirect employment in the industry and IT   sectors.  New industrial Model Townships, IT Parks, Cyber Parks and Technology Parks are being established in the State.
          Mr. Hooda was addressing the gathering after unfurling the National Flag at the 67th State level Independence Day function at Sonipat today.
Mr. Hooda called upon the youth to get good education and play constructive role in the progress of the country. He said that the Independence Day reminds us about our duty towards the nation.
It was drizzling at the time of the function. Mr. Hooda inspected the parade and took the salute in the drizzle. March past contingent included the Jawans from Haryana Police Academy Madhuban, Police Deptt. Sonipat, Women Police Deptt. Sonipat, Haryana Home guards, N.C.C. Junior, members of Girls guides and scouts. D.S.P. Ajit Singh was the parade commander.
Mr. Hooda said that this is a matter of pride for us that dreams of freedom fighter are being fulfilled in Haryana. During last 8 years, Haryana Government has laid stress on inclusive growth. The Government has implemented welfare schemes for all sections of the society including schedule castes, backward classes, farmers, working class, women, businessmen, employees and others. There is environment of peace in the state and the benefits of development are reaching the common man.
Mr. Hooda said that with the pro-agriculture policy of the State Govt. there was record production of 172 lakh 74 thousand tonnes  of foodgrain in the State, whereas in 2004-05 it was 130 lakh 57 thousand tonnes. For boosting the economic growth and employment opportunities in the State,
Mr. Hooda said that four new Power Plants have been established in the State and as a result of it, the power generation capacity in the State has gone up from 1587 MW in 2005 to over 5300 MW.
Mr. Hooda said that his govt. is also developing the villages on the pattern of Urban Development. The availability of drinking water has been increased in about 6700 villages. Over 10 lakh rural families of Schedule Castes in the State have been given free water connections. The govt. has given plots of 100 sq. yards each to 3.82 lakh poor families. Under the Priyadarshini Awas Yojna, pucca houses will be built for 2 lakh poor families of villages. In urban areas also, 1.5 lakh houses will be constructed for the urban poor. Affordable Housing Policy has been prepared for providing low cost flats for the common people, under which 1.25 lakhs will be constructed in next five years.
Mr. Hooda said that UPA Govt. has brought historic Food Security Bill, under which the poor people will be given rice, wheat and coarse grain at the rate of Rs. 3, 2 & one per kg. respectively. In Haryana, the Govt. has decided to give 2.5 kg. of pulses to BPL families at the rate of Rs. 20 per kg., from 20th August, the birthday of Rajiv Gandhi.
Mr. Hooda said that the State Govt. has taken up a number of steps to expand education facilities and provide quality education in the State. A number of new educational institutions, colleges, technical institutions and universities have been opened in the State. In Rajiv Gandhi Education City, world class institutions will be having their campuses.
For providing better health services to the common people, new hospitals and health centres are being opened. Four new medical colleges are also coming up in the State. Free medicines are being given to patients in govt. hospitals.
Mr. Hooda said that the roads in all the areas of the State are being widened and strengthened. New rail lines are also coming up in the State. Rohtak-Jhajjar-Riwari railway line has been completed and the work of Sonipat-Gohana-Jind rail line is in progress. In the current Union Rail Budget, three new rail lines- Delhi-Alwar, Hisar-Sirsa and Yamuna-Chandigarh have been sanctioned for Haryana.
Mr. Hooda said that his Govt. his paying special attention to the development of youth. Not only education opportunities are being made available to them, their sports talent is also being developed, as a result of which, Haryana has emerged as a sports power.

On this occasion, Mr. Hooda felicitated freedom fighters and widows by presenting shawls. The officers and the citizens with were also honoured by the Chief Minister for their outstanding performances in different fields.
Mr. Hooda gave the certificates for issuing Rs. 25 thousand each to the beneficiaries of Priyadarshini Awas Yojna, as the Ist installment of the financial assistance to be given to them.
Because of wet ground due to rain, the mass P.T. Show and the cultural programmes of the school children were not presented.
After the Independence Day function, Mr. Hooda also inaugurated the Mini Secretariat in Sonipat, which has been built at a cost of Rs. 13 Crore 29 lakhs and 80 thousand.
On this occasion, M.P. Mr. Jitender Malik, MLAs Mr. Shrikrishan Hooda, Mr.Jagbir Malik & Mr. Jaitirth Dahiya, Political Advisor to C.M. Prof. Virender Singh were also present, besides a number of officers and local leaders.
