Cabinet okays allotment of land for wrestling and boxing academies

CHANDIGARH, Jan 29
The Haryana Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda here toda,y  approved the proposal to allot five acres of land in Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, Sonepat to Sushil Kumar Foundation for setting up of a world class wrestling academy.
            It may be recalled that the Cabinet had, in its meeting on December 18 last, decided to allot  eight acres of land for a wrestling academy to Padam Shree and Olympion Sushil Kumar Foundation , but a request was received from Sushil Kumar Foundation that  five acres of land would be sufficient. The rate of lease would be Rs 35,000 per acre per year and period of lease would be 33 years at the first instance. Also, 50 per cent seats  would be reserved for the domicile of Haryana for admission to the wrestling academy.
            The Cabinet also decided to allot three acres of land on lease to boxer Vijender Kumar at Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai in district Sonipat for setting up of Boxing Akademy
 CM CONGRATULATE CRICKETERS: Chief Minister  Bhupinder Singh Hooda  congratulated the players participating in 20-20 Cricket Cup organized jointly by Times of India and Cremica at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium, here. As many as 80 teams of four states namely Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir have participated in this tournament.
          Mr. Hooda was interacting with players during the final match between D.A.V school, sector 8, Chandigarh and Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, Chandigarh.          Mr. Hooda said that through sports also children can brighten their future. He inspired children to take active part in sports alongwith education. He said that today after watching children playing on the ground, it reminded him of his childhood when he used to study in Government Model High School of Sector 16, Chandigarh and often used to play at this ground.
         He said that sports play a great role in life of people as it helps in development of healthy body and mind. The players who have lost the match today, would win tomorrow and those who have won today would make more progress in future, added Mr. Hooda.
STATE ASSEMBLY CONVENED : Chandigarh, Jan 29- The Haryana Cabinet has decided to convene the session of State Assembly from February 21, 2014. Stating this here today the Chief Minister said that the next meeting of the State Cabinet would be held on February 6 at 3:30 pm, he added.
POWER DEPARTMENT PROPOSAL APPROVED: The Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Power Department for appointment of land oustees of Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Plant, Jhajjar to 212 posts in the Haryana Power Utilities.
    The cabinet also decided that the oustees of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant, Yamunanagar would also be provided employment on the pattern of oustees of Thermal Power Plant, Khedar, Hisar. For this, a policy would be framed. The land for the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant, Yamunanagar was acquired in the year 1984.
 GOVT PLEA TO LOKAYUKT:  Haryana Government has send a reference to Haryana Lokayukta to re-examine and re-consider its report on the alleged CD incident regarding Change of Land Use as there are variations between the findings and the observations. This was stated by Chief Secretary Mr. S. C. Chaudhary here today.            He said that the State Government has studied the report of the Lokayukta and send a reference to him to re-examine it as there are some variations between the findings and the observations.
SARINDER GUPTA TRANSFERRED: The Haryana Government has transferred Mr.Satinder Gupta, IPS from Superintendent of Police, CID to Superintendent of Police, Bhiwani in place of Mrs.Parul Kush Jain, IPS, whose posting order will be issued later on.
