14.15 lakh MT of paddy arrives in Haryana mandis

CHANDIGARH, OCT 16
More than 14.15 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana and out of which over 12.78 lakh metric tonnes has been purchased by the procuring agencies of the Government during the Kharif 2014-15.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that over 1.36 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased by Millers and Dealers.
He said that a maximum of over 4.04 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of Kurukshetra followed by over 3.81 lakh metric tonnes in Karnal and over 2.01 lakh metric tonnes in Kaithal. Similarly, he said that over 1.83 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in Ambala, 81,478 metric tonnes in Fatehabad, 69,430 metric tonnes in Yamunanagar, 47,268 metric tonnes in Panchkula, 18,279 metric tonnes in Jind, 11,493 metric tonnes in Sirsa, 8245 metric tonnes in Panipat, 7417 metric tonnes in Sonepat and 701 metric tonnes in Palwal.
He said that among the procuring agencies the Food and Supplies Department has procured over 5.99 lakh metric tonnes of paddy whereas HAFED has procured over 3.83 lakh metric tonnes, Agro Industries Corporation over 2.01 lakh metric tonnes and Haryana Warehousing Corporation 94,407 metric tonnes.
He said that 5974 metric tonnes of Bajra has so far arrived in the mandis during the Kharif 2014-15 with maximum of 3983 metric tonnes in Mewat, 1525 metric Tonnes in Rewari, 222 metric tonnes in Bhiwani, 134 metric tonnes in Narnaul and 100 metric tonnes in Palwal. He said that the entire quantity of Bajra has been purchased by the traders.
