Improving law and order situation is Singhal's top priority

CHANDIGARH, JAN 8

Newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP), Haryana, Mr Yash Pal Singhal, has said that improving law and order in the state would be his top priority.
After taking over as DGP, Mr Singhal said here today that putting a check on smugglers peddling drugs and psychotropic substances would also get due attention as they played with the lives of the youth.
Efforts would be made to improve the functioning of the police stations and police posts in the state and more resources would be provided to employees posted there. Use of technology in police investigations would be stepped up to ensure that cases are disposed
off after completing the investigations at the earliest, Mr Singhal said.
Haryana Government appointed Y.P. Singhal, Director General State Vigilance Bureau as Director General of Police in place of S. N. Vashisht with immediate effect. Mr Vashist has been appointed as Director General State Vigilance Bureau.
