HSCST invites Research and Development Project proposals

CHANDIGARH, NOV 14
 Haryana State Council for Science and Technology (HSCST) has invited Research and Development Project Proposals for carrying out research in the broad areas of bio-technology, health, food processing, waste management, environment and energy and other emerging areas by November 27, 2015.
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Haryana Department of Science and Technology said that the projects should have immediate socio-economic benefit to the people of Haryana and the society at large.
He said that the proposals should be submitted through recognised universities and institutes of Haryana.
He said that Science and Technology plays a vital role in the development of various sections of society and well thought out projects and investments in this field could be of great assistance in raising the level of awareness and standard of living of the masses.
He said that the objective of inviting Research and Development Project proposals is to motivate scientists and technologists to apply their expertise to the problems of the State, to promote research, development and adoption of Science and Technology for improving quality of life of rural population and to develop new technology and improve existing technology to improve the diversity of the local economy, utilisation of local resources and to upgrade the skills of artisans etc. in the State.
He said that the duration of a project should not exceed three years and financial outlay should not be more than Rs 10 lakh. Projects which are problem-oriented and have short duration would be preferred, he added.
