Effordable meals to workers and poor persons

CHANDIGARH, JAN 14
The Haryana Government is preparing a scheme to provide affordable meals to workers and poor persons living in ‘bastis’ in the State. Also, the Government is considering a proposal to increase the amount of accidental insurance for State Roadways bus passengers.
          This was disclosed by the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, who was replying to the questions of media persons at Meet the Press Programme at Chandigarh Press Club here today.
          He said that the Haryana Government has set a target to develop two lakh affordable houses under the ‘Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojana’ by 2019. The ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ of the Central Government  aims to provide housing for all by 2022.The Chief Minister was replying to a question about the schemes being prepared by the State Government for the poor.
          The Chief Minister said that under the ‘Mhara Gaon, Jagmag Gaon’ scheme, 24-hour power supply was being provided to villages under 32 such feeders reporting line losses of less than 20 per cent.
