Haryana to include injectable contraceptives in family planning progamme

CHANDIGARH, JAN 16
Haryana is the first State in the country to include injectable contraceptives among the family planning measure.
          While stating this today, Health Minister, Mr. Anil Vij, said that in the last two years, the State has made exemplary reforms to further improve health services.
        He said that last year, Haryana became one of the four states to provide Rotavirus vaccine free of cost. Rotavirus is one of the leading causes of diarrhoea among children. Each dose costs about Rs 3,000, which is borne completely by the Government, he added.
        He said that with a view to further expand health facilities in the State, 570 necessary drugs were being provided free of cost and buildings of 10 hospitals, 14 Community Health Centres (CHCs) and 20 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) have been constructed in the last two years. Besides, 30 buildings have been repaired and four hospitals, 13 CHCs and two PHCs have been upgraded. While the facility of MRI has been provided in two hospitals and three medical colleges, CT Scan facility has been made available in four hospitals and three medical colleges.
        He said that catheterisation laboratories (cath labs) were being established in four district hospitals to facilitate those suffering from heart-related problems. Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Muft Ilaj Yojana’, free secondary-level surgeries are being carried out in government health institutions. Apart from this, 73 basic lab investigations, X-Ray, ultrasound, ECG, referral transport and indoor treatment services are also being provided free of cost. As many as 21 dental procedures and 231 types of surgeries are being carried out free of cost, he added.
        To facilitate cancer patients, 710-bedded National Cancer Institute is being set up at Badsa in district Jhajjar, and tertiary care cancer centre at Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantt., he added.
INTERNAL SECURUTY VARSITY: The Haryana Government would establish State Level Internal Security University at Haryana Police Complex, Madhuban.
        Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, accorded in-principle approval for this project.
Former Vice-Chancellor, Sardar Patel University of Police (Security and Criminal Justice), Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Mr. M.L. Kumawat, delivered a presentation in this regard in a meeting held with the Chief Minister recently.
        Those present in the meeting included Director General of Police, Dr. K.P. Singh and Inspector General of Police (CID), Mr. Anil Rao.
    UGRADATION OF WEBSITES: The websites of Haryana State Transport Department, www.hrtransport.in, www.dt.hrtransport.in, www.epay.hrtransport.in  andwww.hrtransport.in/sbp will not be operational from January 17 to 24, 2017 on account of upgradation and refinement of the existing software and web applications.
        While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that efforts were being made to operationalise these websites at the earliest. 
10 CR FOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal  today announced to give Rs 10 crore for various development projects in village Bhainswal Kalan, district Sonepat. These included arrangement of canal-based drinking water supply, canal water for irrigation of fields and making roads pucca.
        The Chief Minister was in the village to attend the wedding of noted wrestler, Mr. Yogeshwar Dutt. 
        Extending heartfelt wishes and blessings to the newlyweds, the Chief Minister said that Mr. Yogeshwar Dutt had brought laurels to the village on the global stage through his hard work. 
        Accepting the demands raised by the people of the village, Mr. Manohar Lal directed the concerned officers to implement canal-based drinking water supply and also canal water for irrigation in the village fields.
         On the demand for opening a government college in the village, he said that the State Government had framed a policy for opening government college at every 20 kms, and a college would be established in village Bhainswal Kalan after examination of the demand.
