Haryana colleges to have Road Safety Clubs

Haryana Colleges will now have Road Safety Clubs to enable the students to imbibe the importance of practising safety while on the roads earlier in their lives.
          While stating this here today, a spokesman of Higher Education Department said that all the Principals have been directed to appoint a Road Safety Nodal Officer in the college. They would also send the contact details or email id of Nodal officer atsnoharyana@gmail.com. Apart from this, Road Safety Institute Head or Convener, Senior Faculty Member, Regional eminent person and senior students would also be appointed as members of the clubs, he added.
          He said that a Road Safety Ambassador would also be appointed in every class. Awareness talks about road safety and traffic rules quiz for students would be organized in these Road Safety Clubs. Other activities to be carried out under these clubs included human chain against traffic fatalities, slogan writing or painting competition, cycle rally to promote sustainable transport and street plays.
          He said that these Road Safety Clubs will be formed in all Government, Aided and Self Financing Colleges to give tips about road safety to the students as well as carry out road safety measures and drives in these educational institutes.
