Haryana decides to conduct single entrance examination

CHANDIGARH, OCT 23 
The Haryana Government has decided to conduct a single entrance examination for all the aspirants seeking admission to Departments of a university and engineering colleges approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in the State from the academic session 2013-14.
          While giving this information here today, a spokesman of Technical Education Department said that there would be a single entrance examination namely Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for the students of the State for getting admission to Government, Government aided, University Departments and Self  Financing Technical Institutions. He made it clear that JEE-main examination would be conducted in English language only.
          He said that the State government has also adopted the criteria for admissions to engineering colleges and universities of the State under which, 60 per cent weightage would be given for performance in JEE-main examination and 40 per cent weightage would be given in class XII Board Examination to compute all India rank, he added.
