Haryana to raise senior citizens pension

The  Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, has hinted that the old age pension of senior citizens will soon be increased. He dropped this hint while addressing a public meeting in Anaj Mandi of Nathusari Chopta in Sirsa district, today.
            Taking a dig at former state government on old age pension given by them, Mr. Hooda said that during the tenure of the INLD-BJP Government, only Rs 200 was given as old age pension and it was never increased. Before 2004 elections, only announcement was made by the government to raise the old age pension to Rs 300. But the present state government increased the amount in 2005.
            The senior citizens are now given Rs 500 and Rs 700 as old age pension by the state government which would be increased shortly, Mr Hooda said.
           Showering a bonanza of gifts on the people of the Ellenabad constituency, Mr. Hooda announced the decision to upgrade sub-tehsil Nathusari Chopta to the level of Tehsil; the Community Health Centre, Ellenabad, to the level of 50-bedded hospital; and the Primary Health Centre, Nathusari Chopta to the status of Community Health Centre. He also announced setting up of Industrial Training Institute, 33 KV Power Sub Station in Dadbakalan and installation of transformers in all Dhanis of the area.
            The Chief Minister announced Rs 10 crore for the development of Ellenabad constituency, Rs 2 crore for Ellenabad city and Rs 1 crore for Nathusari Chopta. He also announced Rs 10 lakh for the Gaushala of Nathusari Kalan. This, he said, was being done after considering the demands put forth by MP from Sirsa, Dr. Ashok Tanwar, and former MLA, Mr. Bharat Singh Beniwal.
            Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the first Aarohi Model School of the state costing over Rs 3.71 crore in Nathusari Chopta. Aarohi Model Schools are being set up in all six blocks of Sirsa. Also, Mr. Hooda laid the foundation stone of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya costing over Rs 1.27 crore in the  village of Dhaulphalia, Ellenabad block. Kisan Model Schools would be set up in seven districts of the state, he added.
         Rolling out figures on the development works in Sirsa district, the Chief Minister said that developmental works amounting to Rs 749.27 crore had been executed in the district during the tenure of the INLD-BJP Government from 1999 to 2005 whereas the present state government has spent Rs 3,896.13 crore on different development works since 2005.
            President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr. Phool Chand Mullana said that the State Government has worked for all round development and all areas and sections of the society.. He enlisted the achievements of the State Government in detail.
Describing the state government as people friendly, Dr. Tanwar said that Mr. Hooda had fought against injustice and oppressions. People of this area treat Mr. Hooda as their family member.
Co-Incharge, Congress in Haryana and Secretary, All India Congress Committee, Mrs. Asha Kumari said that the all round development in Haryana has taken place only because of the pro people policies of Congress Government and due to this, Haryana is leading among other states in terms of development. She lauded the progress made by the State in fields of roads, power, irrigation and education and said that people should get prepare for Mission-2014.
Agriculture Minister, Mr. Paramvir Singh appreciated the policies of the State Government for welfare of farmers..
The organizer of rally and former MLA, Mr. Bharat Singh Beniwal welcomed the Chief Minister. He said that though he had lost in elections from Ellenabad constituency, but Mr. Hooda has left no stone unturned in equal development in the area like that of areas of other Ministers.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. Prahlad Singh Gillakhera, MLA, Mr. Sampat Singh, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Prof. Virender were also present on this occasion.
