CHANDIGARH, NOV 26
The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, today announced that an 11- member Monitoring Committee would be constituted at district level in the State for the effective implementation of various development schemes and projects of the State Government.
The Chief Minister who was presiding over the meeting of representatives of BJP at Karnal today said that this committee would be in addition to District Public Relations and Grievances Redressal Committees.
He said that Monitoring Committee would consist of non-official members and would apprise its local MLAs about the progress of various development projects. Besides, they would also give them feedback about the working of concerned officers and officials.
Mr Manohar Lal said that today, his government has completed its one month. He reminded that before assuming the office of Chief Minister of the State, he has a plan to visit his constituency twice in a month and today, it is his second visit to Karnal. He said that whenever he visits Karnal, people should consider him as MLA and nothing more than that as he is their representative.
Exhorting the workers not be complacent after the formation of BJP Government in the State, he said that they should work to further strengthen the party organization in the State. He said that BJP is aiming to enroll atleast 10 per cent electors as its members at each assembly segment. Anyone could become the member of BJP by giving a miss call on toll free number 18002662020. On this occasion, he himself spelled out this number and urged the party workers to popularize this number so that maximum number of members could be enrolled.
While underlining the importance of party workers, the Chief Minister said that government could not run alone without their support. He said that people have high hopes from the government and efforts would be made to fulfill the promise made them during the elections in a time bound manner.
He said that today he has presided over a meeting with senior officers of the district administration concerning various ongoing development works and gave necessary directions for early completion of works. He said that he has also directed the concerned officers to identify four or five places on the outskirt of city for setting up milk dairy for the convenience of people.
Earlier, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Panipat, Sardar Bhupinder Singh Joined BJP alongwith his supporters in the presence of Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal.
Minister of State for Food and Supplies Mr Karan Dev Kamboj, MLA Gharaunda Mr Harinder Kalyan, MLA Nilokheri Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi, MLA Assandh Mr Bakshish Singh, MLA Israna Mr Krishan Lal Pawar, former MP Mr I.D Swami, BJP leader Mr Rajiv Sharma, District BJP President Mr Ashok Sukhija, former MLA Mr Shashipal Mehta and other senior leaders and office bearers of the Party were also present on this occasion.
