Haryana Government reduces retirement age

CHANDIGARH, NOV 25
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that State Government has decided to give ex-gratia relief of Rs. three lakh to family members of those state government employees engaged on ad hoc or contract basis in case of their death during service period.
TRINING FOR PATWARIS: The Chief Minister, who was addressing the media persons shortly after presiding over a Cabinet meeting here today, said that State government has also decided to start training of 1002 patwaris selected during previous regime so that they could be inducted at the earliest. He said that training would be imparted to all selected at five places namely Hisar, Panchkula, Ambala, Rohtak and Jhajjar. The department concerned has been asked to initiate the process for the same at the earliest, he added.
605 POSTS IN POWER UTILITIES: Mr. Manohar Lal said that it has also been decided to fill up 605 posts in power utilities in the state. Complete transparency would be ensured in these appointments and special emphasis would be laid on written test while recruitment. Power Generation Corporation would conduct written test for the same and 90 per cent marks would be meant for written test and only 10 per cent for the interview. A decision has also been taken to clear the appointment of 55 Haryana Civil Service Officers recruited during the regime of previous government.
He said that retirement age of employees has been reduced to 58 years from 60 years. In case of Class IV employees and persons with disabilities, the retirement age would be 60 years instead of 62 years. All employees who had completed 58 or 60 years in their respective categories and are still serving would be retired on November 30, 2014. The upper age limit for fresh recruitment would remain 42 years. This decision had been taken to ensure maximum employment opportunity to the youth.
HSSC CHAIRMAN, MEMBERS REMOVED: He said that state government had also decided to remove Chairman and members of Haryana Staff Selection Commission. Apart from this, Act of Haryana Teacher Service Selection Board had also been revoked. He said that new system would soon be made for teacher recruitment.
RELIEF TO FARMERS: He said that state government had made a provision of Rs.123 crore for giving relief to farmers of Jind, Bhiwani and Hisar districts whose crops was damaged in draught like situation. Presently compensation is given only to those whose loss of crops is more than 50 per cent. The concerned department has been asked to make a proposal for compensating those farmers also whose crop damage is between 25 per cent and 50 per cent.
On being asked to comment on reviewing the all decisions taken by previous government after May 16, 2014, he said that concerned department is in the process of preparing report on the same. We also were implementing some of the decisions of previous government.
On being asked to comment on separate Haryana Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, he said that this matter is sub-judiced.
KUNDLI-MANESAR-PALWAL EXPRESSWAY: In reply to a question, he said that construction work on Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway is being taken up with the company. It would soon be started. This matter is also pending with Supreme Court. If the same is cancelled, work of KMP expressway would be got completed through National Highway Authority of India.
On a query concerning Rampal issue, he said that Rampal has been arrested by the Police alongwith 908 members of samiti. Investigation is in process in the whole issue. Government is quite concern about happening of such types of unlawful activities in the state. Government is closely monitoring all such cases, he added.
