Demonetized currency notes worth Rs 5 cr seized in Gurugram

CHANDIGARH, AUG 3
Haryana Police today seized Rs five crore in high value demonetized currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs1000 from seven persons in Sector-15 area, Gurugram.
          While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that the accused have been identified as Rajiv, Satish, Sandeep, Rajesh all resident of Delhi, Dinesh a resident of Nainital, Amit resident of Gurugram and Parveen, a resident of Rohtak. 
          He said that police had got secret information that notes of old currency in huge quantity were kept illegally in sector-15 area. If raided promptly, the notes along with the accused may be recovered.
          Acting swiftly, the police team had immediately raided and nabbed seven persons alongwith the old currency. They kept old currency notes in plastic boxes. On interrogation, all seven persons could not give a satisfactory reply to the police about the possession of huge old currency. He said that action is being taken as per law against all the accused.
