Haryana delegates power to issue driving licence

CHANDIGARH,  NOV 15
Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here today approved the amendment in Haryana Motor Vehicles Rules, 1993 so as to delegate the powers of issuing Learners’ driving Licence and test of Competence for permanent Driving Licence.
            As per the amendment, the powers will be delegated to the Registrar of all Universities, Directors of Medical Colleges, Principals of Government Colleges, Government Aided Colleges, Government College of Education, Government Polytechnics, Government ITIs, Government Nursing Colleges, Government Pharmacy Colleges, Government Ayurvedic/Homopathic/Unani Colleges and Directors of University Institute of Engineering and Technology.
            This will facilitate the students in obtaining learners Driving licence without any hassle from their education institute. It will further facilitate students to take test for Driving Licence required for permanent driving licence in their respective institutions only.
HARYANA POLICE RULES AMENDED: The  Haryana Cabinet   today approved the Haryana Police (Appointment of Chairperson and Members of Complaint Authorities) Rules, 2018.
            Under the Rules, the Committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary will be constituted to recommend the names of Chairman and Members of the State Police Complaint Authority or District Police Complaint Authority. The other members of the Committee will be Advocate General, Haryana and Additional Chief Secretary, Home. The Secretary/Special Secretary will be the Member Secretary of the Committee.
            The Committee will invite applications for appointment of Chairperson and Members of the Complaint Authorities from the persons of eminence having wide knowledge and experience of atleast 20 years in case of state authority and ten years in case of district authority in the field of public life, academic, law, administration and governance, criminal administration and social work. The Committee will then recommend the names of the candidates to the State Government.
