Surajkund International Crafts Mela draws overwhelming response

On his visit to 28th Surajkund International Crafts Mela, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda stated that till now the Surajkund International Crafts Mela has witnessed an overwhelming response, as there has been a footfall of 7.50 lakh visitors and online ticketing has generated a business of 7.70 lakh.
He addressed the mediapersons at Hotel Rajhans, Surajkund and said that besides an impressive participation of craftspersons and artistes from the country, there are craftspersons, artisans and cultural artistes from about 15 countries taking part in this Mela.
Mr Hooda further added that the practitioners of languishing art get a good platform here and this Mela is keeping this craft alive. This Mela is a big achievement for the state of Haryana. On the occasion of the lunch hosted by Chief Minister, the esteemed guests included Hon’ble Governor, Mr Jagannath Pahadia and his wife Smt. Shanti Pahadia;  Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy, Mr Farooq Abdullah; Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mr Kuldip Sharma; Transport Minister Shri Aftab Ahmed; Labour & Employment Minister, Pt. Shiv Charan Lal Sharma; Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Mr Rao Dan Singh, Mr Jaiveer Singh Balmiki and Anita Yadav; MLAs Mr  Rao Dharampal; Mr Anand Singh Dangi; Mr B.B. Batra, Mr Anand Kaushik; Chairman, Haryana Tourism Corporation, Mr Chakrvrty Sharma and wife of Chief Minister, Haryana, Smt. Asha Hooda.
      The artistes from Goa, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan presented their folk dances in front of the dignitaries. An artiste from Ivory Coast sang ‘Father of the Nation’, Mahatma Gandhi’s bhajan ‘Raghupati Raghav’.
