ECI cVIGIL app is now available on iPhone also

CHANDIGARH MARCH 15: 
The cVIGIL app launched by the Election Commission of India is now available on iPhone also. Earlier, it was available only on android based mobile phones. It can be downloaded from the App Store of the iPhone besides Google Play Store.
          While giving information, Haryana Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. Inder Jeet said that the Election Commission of India is keeping a vigil on violations of Model Code of Conduct. Thus to ensure the participation of the common man, first time, the cVIGIL app has been launched.
          He said that through this latest mobile application, citizens can report violations of Model Code of Conduct during the elections. They can download this cVIGIL app from Google Play Store on android phone and from the App Store on the iPhone.
          He said that a person can take photo or record video up to two minutes and upload through this cVIGIL app. This photo or video would be uploaded with the automatic GPS location. Within 20 minutes after filing the complaint, the concerned team would reach the location and efforts would be made to resolve the complaint within 100 minutes. If any serious complaint is found, in which registering a FIR is required, then such cases would be resolved through a systematic process and those serious cases which cannot be settled, would be sent to the National Grievances Redressal System portal. The identity of the complainant will be kept confidential by the Commission, if he wishes so, he added.
Meanwhile, In view of Model Code of Conduct effective during the Lok Sabha General Elections-2019, Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Mr Rajeev Ranjan has urged the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Heads of all the Departments to get the proposals related to their respective departments examined by the Screening Committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, before sending it directly to the office of Election Commission of India and Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, for obtaining permission.
          While giving this information, Mr. Rajeev Ranjan said that Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi is the Chairman of the Screening Committee, while Additional Chief Secretaries or Commissioners and Secretaries of the Departments concerned and Principal Secretaries or Secretaries of the Monitoring and Coordination Department are its members. He said that department should send the proposal to the office of Chief Electoral Officer through the Screening Committee, making it sure that the proposal is of high importance and cannot wait till the completion of the election process.

          He said that, Mr Shekhar Vidyarthi has been appointed the nodal officer to ensure the compliance of Model Code of Conduct and matters related to its violation, he added.
232 CASES IF UNFAIR MEANS REGISTERED: A total of 232 cases of unfair means was registered across the state during the History and Biotechnology exam of senior secondary (Academic, Re-Appearance and Open School) of Board of School Education, Haryana, which was held on March 14, 2019. Due to the negligence of duty, three supervisors were also relieved from duty in the state.
          While giving information about this, a spokesman of the Board said that the examination centres of district Bhiwani were inspected by the flying squad of the Chairman of the Board, where two cases of using unfair means was caught. Similarly, the flying squad of the Board Secretary inspected the examination centres at Bawani Khera, Kungar, Pur and Mundhal of district Bhiwani, where a case of using unfair means was caught.
          He said that the special flying squad of Board Chairman caught 27 cases of using unfair means in the examination centres of districts Bhiwani, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Hisar, Karnal, Sirsa, Sonipat, Yamunanagar and Nuh. Similarly, the special flying squad of Board Secretary caught 8 cases of using unfair means in examination centres of districts of Faridabad, Gurugram, Hisar, Jind and Charkhi Dadri. He said that the Rapid Action Force has caught 12 cases and the other flying squads have caught 182 cases of using unfair means.
          The spokesman said that written communication has been sent to the Education Department to initiate disciplinary action against the supervisors who have been relieved from duty for negligence during the ongoing annual examination of March-2019 across the state.
