Chandigarh, March 9

Students enrolled under ‘Super-100’ programme of Haryana Government has again excelled in JEE Main results as three Students have scored a percentile of above 99,  27 students have scored above 90 percentile and 53 students have secured more than 80 per cent marks in JEE Main 2021.

The results of JEE Main 2021, a preliminary exam before JEE Advanced, were declared on March 9, 2021.

Sharing more details in this regard, Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal said that in the year 2018, ‘Super 100’ programme was started. Under this programme, free coaching facilities are giving to the students preparing for JEE, IIT and NEET exams.

As many as 100 students of non-medical and medical streams studying in government schools across the State were selected to get free coaching at two districts Rewari and Panchkula, respectively.  There are 121 students enrolled under ‘Super 100’ programme in these two districts of which 50 are enrolled in Rewari and 71 in Panchkula, said the Minister.

He said the food and lodging expenses of the students including uniform, books, traffic, stationery, test, examination fees, providing school education, board examination etc. are borne by the department. The entire cost of training is also being provided free of cost by the training centres.

The Education Minister said that this time three students have secured above 99 percentile, 10 students have scored above 95 percentile, nine students have scored above 90 per cent and 34 students have scored above 80 percentile. A total of 109 students have appeared for the examination in three centres and students have scored highest of 99.72 percentile and 53 students scoring above 80 percentile.

The Minister said that this year’s result was the most spectacular and record breaking result that has been achieved by government schools or government training centres of any state across India. Last year too, the result was very impressive.

Sh. Kanwar Pal said that during the COVID-19 Pandemic education was badly affected. Coaching of the students was stopped for almost 7 months.  The education was imparted only through online medium. It is really commendable to see that in just a short span of four months this kind of result has been achieved.

All these students studying under the ‘Super 100’programme  belong to Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Economically Backward Classes. The teachers of government schools have made the academic base of these students studying till Xth standard and coming from families of labourers, farmers, daily wagers, small shopkeepers and working class, informed the Minister.

These students have worked hard to achieve this milestone and all of them have become role models for other students of their villages/wards/towns. These students, mostly from rural areas, studying in the Hindi medium have certainly given a tough challenge to students studying in English medium schools, said the Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Education Minister informed that the Super 100 programme launched on the lines of ‘Super 30’ educational programme in Bihar is no less than a gold medal for the School Education Department, which has been received under the able guidance of Chief Minister, Mr  Manohar Lal.
