CHANDIGARH, APRIL 11

Dr. M S Malik, IPS (Retd) former DGP Haryana, President Jat Sabha Chandigarh and also former President Wrestling Federation of India and President, Haryana Wrestling and Hockey Association’s, has questioned the criteria adopted by Haryana Subordinate Services Selection Commission for selection of Physical Training Instructors (PTIs). He said keeping 60 marks for academics and 30 marks for viva-voce is totally illogical and unexplainable.
Dr Malik was surpprised that physical test has neither been kept nor conducted for the eligible applicants/ selected candidates who are supposed to be physically robust/fit to train the budding youths/students studying in different schools in the State for next 20 to 30 years.
Dr Malik said “It is also a matter of facts and records that applicants for these posts and selected finally must have passed the basic PTI training course at least 5-10 years back.”
Dr. Malik has described this selection of more than 1000 PTIs as totally eyewash to serve the political interests which will prove to be very prejudicial to the maintenance of the physical health of budding youths and will rather defeat the very purpose for which the recruitment has been made.
Dr Malik has called upon the State Government. as well as the concerned authorities to change the selection criteria as per the job requirement that is off full proof physical fitness required for PTIs.
