CHANDIGARH, JAN 15
Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda has expressed hope that Union Railways Ministry would approve a new daily Inter-city train between Jaipur and Chandigarh through Rewari, Jhajjar, Rohtak and Jind.
Mr Hooda was responding to queries from media persons at Kosli today, where he had arrived to visit Nangal Pathani and Naya Gaon villages to pay his last respects to the deceased CRPF personnel Pradeep Yadav and Rohtash Singh. The two CRPF personnel had sacrificed their lives, while fighting the Naxals in Latehar area of Jharkhand.
Mr Hooda said that the train would benefit the people of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh. It would also add to the revenue of Indian Railways as there is a great demand for rail connectivity in all these areas. He also added that he has already written to the Union Railways Minister Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal to request for the same. He said that today he met General Manager of Northern Railways, Mr V. K. Gupta for the same and he was quite hopeful that soon this train would start running on daily basis during the peak hours.
Mr Hooda said that this part of the state does not have any rail link to the state capital Chandigarh and Jaipur. The train will efficiently connect important and promising business centers like Jind, Rohtak, Jhajjar and Rewari to capital cities like Jaipur and Chandigarh. It would greatly boost the trade and also connect interior areas like Jind to other cities like Rohtak and Rewari. As it would be first rail connection between Jind and Rohtak, it would also help students in a big way, he added.
Mr Hooda also thanked the Union Railway Ministry for commissioning the Rohtak-Jhajjar-Rewari railway link.
