CHANDIGARH, APRIL 25
More than 43,58 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has so far arrived in various mandis of Haryana during the current procurement season.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that the government agencies have procured more than 43.58 lakh MT of wheat whereas 626 MT of wheat have been purchased by traders.
He said that Hafed has purchased maximum 15.23 lakh MT of wheat, Food and Supplies Department 12.75 lakh MT, Agro Industries Corporation 4.03 lakh MT, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 4.53 lakh MT, Confed one lakh MT and Food Corporation of India had procured 6.01 lakh MT of wheat during current procurement season so far.
He said that district Karnal is leading in the wheat arrival where 5.47 lakh MT of wheat has arrived in the mandis, followed by Kaithal with 5.24 lakh MT. Similarly, 4.76 lakh MT wheat arrived in district Jind, whereas 4.58 lakh MT of wheat in Sirsa, 3.5 lakh MT in Kurukshetra, 3.58 lakh MT in Fatehabad, 2.61 lakh MT in Sonipat, 2.15 lakh MT in district Panipat, 2.39 lakh MT in Hisar, 1.77 lakh MT in Palwal, 1.48 lakh MT in Rohtak, 1.41 lakh MT in Ambala, 84,668 MT in Faridabad, 82,864 MT in Jhajjar, 95,002 MT in district Bhiwani, 73,138 MT in Yamunanagar, 39,412 MT in Gurgaon, 31,773 MT in Mewat, 15,078 MT in Narnaul and 13,343 in MT in district Panchkula.
