by Haryananewswire
CHANDIGARH, APRIL 18
With a view to further extend the facility of learning driving for Heavy Transport Vehicles, Haryana Government has decided to set up driving training schools in all district headquarters at Haryana Transport Depots of the State.
While giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that in these driving training schools, trained drivers of Haryana Transport Department, who would be engaged as Skilled Driver Instructors on contract basis after their retirement would give training to trainee drivers. He said that initially two training buses at each location would be provided and these buses would have dual driving controls. One instructor per training bus would be engaged, he added.
The spokesman said that at present driving training schools were being run at seven places in the State. They include Driver Training Institute, Murthal (Sonipat), Haryana Roadways Central Workshop, Karnal and Hisar, Haryana Roadways Workshop, Gurgaon and Rohtak, Haryana Roadways Depot, Charkhi Dadri (Bhiwani) and Driver Training School, Mohindragarh. Apart from this, three Institutes of Driving Training and Research were being run in the State by leading Automobile Companies at Bahadurgarh, Kaithal and Rohtak.
He said that with this facility put in place at all district headquarters; the youth of the state would not have to go outside the state for getting training in driving Heavy Transport Vehicles. It would also put a check on getting fake certificates by unethical means. Further, this would also help in removing the shortage of trained drivers for driving heavy transport buses in the State.
