Haryana Tourism to organise Baisakhi Mela at Pinjore Gardens

Haryana Tourism is going to organize the Baisakhi Mela at Pinjore Gardens on April 13 and 14 with much gaiety and fervour.
          While stating this here today, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism Mrs. Sumita Misra said that every year, this Festival is celebrated as a grand event with much pomp and gaiety at Pinjore Gardens. Hundreds of visitors look forward to the Baisakhi celebrations.
          Mrs. Misra said that this year, there would be a lot of fun and frolic in store for visitors. “We have made sincere efforts to scale up the Baisakhi celebrations at Pinjore Gardens this year by engaging popular entertainers and have also created Food Court and Crafts Bazaar for people to make the most of”, she added. She said that the visitors could enjoy a delicious fare at the Food Court, shop from a variety of handlooms and handicrafts at the Crafts Bazaar and jive to the tunes of the Day Performers.
The Managing Director said that there would be competitions for school students and scintillating evening cultural programmes during the Mela. On April 13, senior citizens from registered senior citizens societies of Chandigarh and Panchkula have been especially invited to be a part of these celebrations. Also, there would be a Rangoli Competition for school students from 10 a.m. onwards and the celebrations for the day would culminate with the Evening Cultural Programme by Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, Department at 6 pm.  Similarly, on   April 14, there would be a Drawing Competition at 10 a.m.
The major highlight of this evening would be the pulsating performance by famous Punjabi singers Babbal Rai and Jassi Gill from 6.00 pm onwards.  The entire festival including evening cultural performances are open to all, she further added.
