Haryana CM approves construction of orphanage in Gurgaon

CHANDIGARH, JAN 10
 Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has approved the construction of an orphanage on the empty plot behind Sheetla Mata Temple in Gurgaon. On a surprise visit to the city, he took stock of the cleanliness and sanitation situation and condition of roads in Gurgaon. Directing the officers concerned to take necessary action, he also sought a report from them regarding the decisions taken by him in the last meeting held with them.
The Chief Minister also took stock of the cleanliness and sanitation situation in the Old Delhi Road, Dhanchiri Camp, Sheetla Mata Road, Rajiv Nagar, Sikanderpur, Sector 17-18, and DLF areas, etc.
Apart from this, he also discussed various issues, including cleanliness management, renovation of roads, beautification of the city, making power supply accountable, solid waste management, drinking water supply, sewage management, parking, drainage of storm water, city bus service, framing of parking policy and advertisement policy, traffic management, law and order, etc. with officers in the presence of Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, and local MLAs.
Mr. Manohar Lal said that Gurgaon is the face of Haryana and the State Government wants to present a better picture of this city to the world. He said that all officers should understand the responsibilities of their departments concerned and make concerted efforts to eliminate the problems. He assured every possible help to the officers. He said that officers should prepare list of works of their departments and set priorities for their completion. He said that during his next visit to Gurgaon, he would review the action taken on the decisions taken in the meeting.
Reviewing the works pertaining to Municipal Corporation Gurgaon, the Chief Minister directed to prepare list of roads that need renovation and set time limit for the completion of this work.
The Chief Minister was informed in the meeting that three machines have been purchased for maintaining cleanliness in the Municipal Corporation area, and these would be delivered by January 18, 2016. Apart from this, one machine would be taken on rent. Roads with total length of 120 km would be cleaned during the night with these four machines on a daily basis. Giving directions to the officers for maintenance of parks in Gurgaon, Mr. Manohar Lal said that duty of maintenance of parks should be given to resident welfare associations after repairing their boundaries.
          Expressing concern over the increasing number of beggars in the city, the Chief Minister said that arrangements should be made for their rehabilitation by providing them training.
